Stephen Fanuka continues his work on the $3.5 million Chelsea townhouse renovation in NYC. After completely gutting the entire place, he discovers major foundation problems. The side wall on every level is tearing away from the back and front, and pure friction is holding the building together. Outside, more problems are cropping up when Fanuka tries to drill into the city sewer line to install a main line for the house. The bluestone sidewalks in front of the house pose a problem because they are landmarked, and if he breaks one could get fined and lose his license. On top of all of this, the police show up to deal with a permit that expired just hours ago that could halt work altogether outside.
