- During the beating, the second character is shown still alive after a couple of hits, also given a chance to speak. The character's face is grotesquely disfigured as the character tries in vain to speak. (This particular moment is arguably the most "messed up" moment in the show so far.)
- When the beating continues, more blood spray is shown and a large scrap of skin is seen hanging off the barbed wire bat. The body is shown on the ground with a bloody, gory mess where the head used to be (in great, closeup detail). The hand is seen twitching and an eye is visible on the ground. EXTREMELY GRAPHIC
- Many zombies are run over with an RV and otherwise dispatched. A character grabs onto a zombie that was hanged from a bridge and the zombie's body comes apart at the neck in a disturbing mess.

- This is the most intense episode of The Walking Dead yet. Lots of suspenseful moments on the edge of death or mutilation.
- The deaths of two characters will be incredibly disturbing for most viewers. Very graphic blood and gore. Not for squeamish viewers.
- Besides the physical intensity, there is great suspense and emotion in the episode's events.

- Two characters are killed by another character with a baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire, with all hits directed to the face and head. Large amounts of blood and gore are shown.
- The first character beaten is not shown in detail. The second character is hit once, given a chance to speak, and then hit several more times. Not shown in great detail but still disturbing.
Frightening & Intense Scenes
- Negan psychologically tortures Rick throughout the episode, and even puts him in a difficult situation where he is forced to use an axe to chop his own son's arm off or else Negan will have Rick's other friends killed if he fails to do so.
