Engaging and hysterical film that i watch on repeat

What i absolutely love about Ryan Higa is that he is an absolute mastermind of writing effective comedy. The comedy in this short is similar to that of all his videos, in that it's a little immature, pun-filled, and banks on the subversion of expectations. That's not band thing, however. Ryan is incredibly versatile in playing many different characters. I have always enjoyed his skitzo series (bring it back please), but he is plaing even more characters than usual. The characters are incredibly funny in their own unique way. Regina is funny in her lack of intelligence, R Dizzle is funny because of his "rapping" and agreeing with the worst of ideas, Hanate is, well, hanate, Tham is funny because of her lisp, Steve is Funny because of his relationship with regina, and Ryan is funny in his relatable normality. Not only are the characters and humour great, but the plot is intriguing. It centers around finding out who is killing each charscter one by one. It is cliche, but that cliche is purposely inserted as a joke. The horror elements are genuinely affective, and the ending is incredible. Let's not forget the directing and visuals. The music and lighting provide a relatively cliche but nice atmosphere, and the movie is directed very in-your-face, being used intentionally ironically to juxtapose the horror cliches with some genuine comedy. Now, this short is nothing more than a little comedy, but it is incredibly affective at its job of captivating and entertaining. No real flaws, as any flaws i can point out are intentional. Not an all time classic short, but it gets the job done in spades.

Extremely light 9/10
