Before I start I will say the series kept me interested. I wanted to find out what was in the conclusion of it. What are those faceless creatures, how did Holden get powers?

However, there are a lot more questions I have to ask that are about Holden's character motivation.

Holden took his best friends' death pretty lightly, and upon coming face to face with the orchestrators and perpetrators he never once brought it up. I was waiting the whole time at his meeting with Frost for him to say, you killed my best friend, you can't do that and pretend to be a good guy. But I guess he totally forgot that in the name of shiny tech?

Holden isn't the only socio, Kevin's brother seems dead set on saying he's got nothing left, but I was under the impression that Kevin left behind a pregnant widow who could probably use support?

The whole Willa/Holden thing made no sense. "I'm desperately in love with you, but after one argument I'm assuming we're broken up so I'm going to immediately start sleeping with another girl and go on vacation with her and pretend to be married, but like tomorrow I'll forget her name because you're all I want." How does that make sense? Did he not care about Charlie at all? When they were shooting at them and driving away he didn't even groan out a 'Don't leave her she's with me.'

Their reaction to people trying to kill them is so low key. It's like they think they are accidentally shooting at them or something. They don't try to report it to the police or even shoot back. It's like she just tried to kill me and release hell on earth but I'm just going to close her in a barn and leave. That should work, no way that's coming back to bite me in the ass.

I mean someone shoots at him and says they are after him and threatens his family and he's just like alright I'm going home now.

Then we come to the finale, the bridge scene. WHY WAS THE PLAN TO BLOW UP THE BRIDGE WHILE THEY WERE STILL ON IT?!!! HE SPENT 15 MINUTES TALKING ABOUT HOW HE'D SEEN HER DIE ON THE BRIDGE AND HE DIDN'T WANT TO LEAVE HER, WHEN SHE COULD HAVE JUST WALKED OFF THE BRIDGE SO THEY COULD BLOW IT UP WITH HER AT A SAFE DISTANCE!!!! Or even both of them. It doesn't take a demolition specialty to know you shouldn't destroy a bridge while you are standing in the middle of it!

I feel like the writers needed someone to content check this. You can't let the plot points drive the story you need the story to reach the plot points. I saw an analogy once. You can have a story about space unicorns, yes. But you can't have them all flying around without helmets, but defeat the villain space unicorn by breaking his helmet. Either the unicorns can live without being imploded in space or they can't. You can't have both because you weren't creative enough to find a logical conclusion.

I found myself watching Beyond back to back solely because it's a new year and i wanted to start the year with a bang. However, it started to give me that 'The Tomorrow People' vibe after 3 episodes.

First off, i appreciate the writers for not stretching his "warm" welcome into the community for too long and for downplaying his new found celebrity status. What i don't get is how a not so confident 13 year old could gain confidence to actually socialize in a 25 year old body so quickly without giving off that Kyle XY vibe (save for the headaches and other-world memory mishaps).

After 12 years in a coma, Holden's toned body is so inexplicable lol!. I find all the ground breaking and earth shattering( i mean that in the literal sense) punches that Holden dealt his 100% human stalker a tad unrealistic, even for sci-fi as the ripple effect / damage to the earth was a little over the top. Some hoe the victims of this punch survive - HOW?

In the end, Beyond is fun to watch and the plot could not have been a lot better than it actually is. It could have been worse.

It's a teen drama dressed as sci-fi. Each episode, all the way up to 8, which is where I left it, gives around 5 minutes of actual sci-fi. The rest of course being teen angst. Most cliff hangers centre around how conflicted the protagonist is having to choose which girl he wants to be with.

I will give 1 spoiler just to show how teen drama-ish this is. So, he's supposed to be essentially a 13 year old awakened into a 25 year old body. Has missed puberty and the magical 'first time'. As such he is fumbly around girls... But then he gets his memories back of spending all that time in another world - with a girl. But serious sci-fi component be damned, if we make him Don Juan we can't make him angsty and nervous.

I can't believe I wasted ten hours of my life on a show that makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Usually when producers and writers want to pass bullshit off as plausible, they try to dress it up and not let the gaping plot holes look so gaping. But this was just ridiculous. Also, this show does not fall under the sci-fi category. It falls under the teen angst category.

It's about a kid named Holden who goes into a coma at the age of 13 and then wakes up 12 years later with powers (something novel? Nope, just telekinesis). Defying human psychology, this should-be man- child is not a man-child but a man in the sense that he is apparently capable to functioning like a 25 year old and not Tom Hanks in Big. BUT, he does not have any experience with girls. BUT BUT, he regains his memories and it turns out that he does have experience with girls because he's spent the last 12 years in another dimension so cleverly called The Realm. Do they provide exposition about this Realm? Noooo, they basically only focus on his sexytimes with this Willa girl. Then *gasp* there's another girl that comes into the picture and then there's the critical question of omg who will he chose?

Where's the sci-fi, you ask? I've been asking myself the same question for the last ten hours.

I also felt like this whole thing was very Twilight in that Holden and his brother are away from home, being involved in weird nonsense, but their parents don't care..? To check up on them..? ...Ever?

Anyway, if you're thinking about watching this, please don't...? Save yourself some misery, and just watch Family Feud or something. Anything. That isn't this. (I can't believe it's been renewed for a second season.)

The first season was captivating. Mysterious characters and plot development. The second season was lacking. The villain arcs were boring. They put too much focus on Holden sleepwalking, and not enough on his powers.
