Party Hard has been compared to Hotline Miami. These comparisons aren't unfair, but it is a unique-ish game in its own right.
You play as a "guy trying to get some sleep"; a mysterious guy who wears a white mask who must "kill them all" at various parties. The plot is very loose, but who cares? This isn't a game you play for the storyline.
The graphics are pixels art. I play a lot of pixel art games and these are mid-tier, not as stylish as Hotline Miami, not quite as detailed as Papers, Please. Music is nice bleepy electro, slightly chiptune. Sound effects are fairly minimal with speech bubbles used instead. There is voice acting during the cutscenes which is of a high standard.
Gameplay wise you "stalk and slash" opponents. Are they innocent party goers or annoying people that need to be killed? The game is stealth light in that you have to kill people without being spotted or a character rings the police or occasionally beats you up. The game reminds me a bit of Gauntlet. There is also loads of traps to set and places to hide the bodies which keeps it varied.
The game also features some excellent dark humour. Some off the speech bubbles were funny. And loads of cameos like Super Mario, Hulk Hogan and a dancing bear with a gold chain.
This game is no masterpiece, but I thought it was great fun, so much so that I ended up completing it. The game has a sequel and a bit of a cult following. It is reasonably priced I got over 10 hours gameplay from it.
