A Tribute to Priscilla Alden (2012)

*** (out of 4)

Nick Millard directed this 13 minute short, which as the title suggests, is a tribute to actress Priscilla Alden who appeared in several of his movies. The actress has a cult following thanks to the film CRIMINALLY INSANE and we get clips from that movie as well as .357 MAGNUM and DEATH NURSE. In between the clips Millard talks about what Alden was like in real life and he says she was nothing like what you saw on the screen. The director also talks about another movie the two of them made but it's not listed on this site and I haven't been able to dig too much up on it. Either way, this is a nice little tribute that fans should enjoy.

Nice tribute to Priscilla Alden

Warning: Spoilers
Independent filmmaker Nick Millard recalls with great fondness working with actress Priscilla Alden on several movies throughout the years. Outside of clips from such Millard movies as ".357 Magnum," "Criminally Insane," and "Death Nurse 2," we also get a TV promo with Alden as her "Death Nurse" character Edith Mortley and a clip from the unfinished feature "Funeral Parlor" that was shot in Alden's apartment. In addition, Millard reveals that he wanted to make a film starring Alden as Gertrude Stein, but alas this was never to be. Best of all, Millard talks about Alden being an intellectual who loved to read books and go to the opera (Alden had small parts in various operas throughout her acting career on stage). Worth a watch for Priscilla Alden fans.
