Emotional crossover
Jackbv12324 October 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Crossovers suck in reruns with the possible exception of when the rerun is the concluding episode. Then they are only slightly bad.

This is an emotional episode. I imagine the crossover episodes leading up to it were emotional too. Too bad I probably will never see them, at least not in a connected fashion.

The American justice system is broken. Truth and facts don't matter. It is only how you produce them and then present them. That's why I hate courtroom shows. Chicago PD is usually not a courtroom show. I had to fast forward through all the courtroom stuff. Apparently there was some pretty nifty stuff toward the end, but it's still too much for me. Truth doesn't matter. (I say that because relevant information is kept from juries all the time and that's the case in this episode. "It's too prejudicial." Yeah, that's because it is as close to absolute proof of the crime as you can get.0 The system is broken.

Instead of a 1 star because of how much I hate the premise, I gave it much more. In a world where the basic premise of a broken justice system isn't true, it's worth 10.

Hank only went slightly off the rails in this one, but he still shouldn't have been involved in the investigation and neither should have Lindsay. But cop shows break that rule all the time.

Gotcha!

Warning: Spoilers
I think that my favourite episodes in all crime series are the ones where the villain thinks they have got away with it, by excluding evidence or blocking part of the prosecution's argument, but some slip-up or technical manipulation allows the prosecutors to bring in the full weight of their case, resulting in a justified Guilty verdict. This is one of the most satisfying!

Real life doctor was crazier than this fictitious one

The life they may be loosely basing this episode on was Farid T. Fata. He poisoned 500 not 46. And 500 was just what they could prove. It's reasonable to assume he poisoned thousands. Highly recommend DR Death the podcast which goes in depth in season 2 on this case. The sad reality that was stated in the episode is chemo is poison. If there is a spill they have to bring in hazmat to clean it up. It shouldn't be anywhere near a human body. The closer you look at chemo and radiation the more disturbing it gets. Cancer treatment is barbaric and good for only 2 things. Making money and killing people. As many who have seen friends or family go through it can attest. What doctor death revealed is a system that is more than willing to cover up the homicides of patients to avoid the bad publicity it would cause. And just because a doctor is the best in his field doesn't mean he or she isn't a charlatan. Do your research on your doctor. Especially when it comes to cancer doctors. Because they get paid very well for treatments that fail the vast majority of the time.
