"Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde: The Game - The Movie" is a pretty long title for a pretty short film as this one here only runs for pretty much exactly 4 minutes. The writer and director is Cinemassacre's James Rolfe and his popularity on Youtube makes him the biggest name attached to this project and the reason why it racked up hundreds of thousands votes in the pretty much exactly 2 years since its release (November 2015). The cast otherwise is not known at all. The core concept for the film you can read from the title as it is about the transformation of a normal man, a scientist, into a monster, the subject of Jekyll and Hyde that has been elaborated on so so many times already in the history of film, even with Oscar-winning consequences. This one here is the other end of the line though. While it never looks cheap or amateurish (kinda expected with how much of a pro Rolfe is) in terms of the video quality, it never succeeds at all with its comedic approach, at least for me. I am generally not a big Cinemassacre fan I guess, but I have seen stuff from Rolfe that is much better than this uninspired mess we got here. It is just as bad and try-hard as the title suggests. I would not really blame the actors as the script seems truly weak, even if the lead actor is kinda cringeworthy too and I can see why he does not seem to be enjoying a successful or prolific career. A huge thumbs-down from me. Not recommended.
