The growing pain of Akiva
dierregi1 May 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Akiva's love for art is supported only by his sweet cousin Libbi. They share an intimate moment at the museum, but it looks like even this romance will not work out for Kiva.

He is not the only one suffering: Giti doesn't want to go home and moves in with her father Shulem, while Ruchami is getting seriously involved with Hanina. It is obvious to the audience that poor Ruchami is following an illusion of love and normalcy to escape from her dysfunctional family.

A boy who's torturing himself to study the Torah doesn't seem somebody who can show much affection and take care of a young wife.

Also suffering is Bube Malka, when she finds out that her friend is terminally ill. That is also what life is about and there is no sentimentality, but only melancholy in the way the friends cope with the bad news.
