In Buenafuente del Sistal, a small village in the Upper Tagus (Spain), there is a Cistercian Monastery named "The Mother of God" that, since the 13th century, is inhabited by nuns who are devoted to silence and prayer. The Monastery-declared National Monument in 1931-is visited each year for almost 10,000 people to do spiritual exercises and find in prayer the love and peace that monastic life provides them. This documentary shows the life of eleven Cistercian sisters who, encouraged by their young priest, took the initiative to save the monastery. With faith, love and tenacity they managed to get a group of people involved in this great project. Since then, the community is governed by the Rule of St. Benedict: prayer, obedience, conversion of manners, poverty, chastity, humility and hospitality. St. Benedict said "let all guests who arrive be received like Christ". I interviewed Mother Teresita when she was 101 years old. She enrolled in the monastery when she was 16 and remained there until she passed away, at the age of 104. She only left the monastery once in her life, when she granted an audience by Pope Benedict XVI. These Cistercian sisters show us their way to happiness through contemplation, worship and service.
