A very atypical adaptation of Lovecraft.
Unsurprising, since this was a collaboration with another author, Robert H. Barlow (Who also collaborated with Lovecraft in the grim post-apocalyptic story Till A' the Seas)
And while there are a couple of "Lovecraftian" elements here, for most part it doesn't feel like a horror tale, having a rather cozy atmosphere.
I guess that would explain the low score, with viewers probably expecting something a bit more conventional. Still, I think this was a pretty solid short, with some rather beautiful moments, being perhaps the best animation by Maria Lorenzo.
It honestly deserves a bit more recognition.
