Father Brown and Mrs McCarthy witness something unusual whilst out for a walk, what follows is a baffling case.
The show is back on form with this one, following the previous episode The Missing Man, the tone is a lot more serious, more gritty, and definitely more intriguing as a mystery.
Quite a dark story, but wonderfully engaging, with great characters. Pooky Quesnel is superb as mother Ruth, arguably giving a series best performance, she shines in every scene. It almost has a touch of Agatha Christie about it.
One of Series 4's best offerings 9/10
