History as we rarely see it
youmike29 September 2017
If you can get hold of a copy of this series it will show an aspect of British history rarely referred to. I was brought up in London in the 1940s and I go back to the series to remind myself how different life was for my mother. She worked in the Bank of England, but stood to lose her job if she got married. This TV series underlines the discrimination that was accepted at that time as unchangeable.
