As indicated in my previous reviews, I thought S01 was absolutely brilliant and original and compelling.
S02 had a weak start but finally developed a cadence. I am concerned that many viewers are not even getting a chance to sample the show because, in the giga-channel cable universe, it has limited exposure.
Here again Tucker steals the episode. In a tremendous physical performance that actually involves very little movement, just the threat of movement, he appears to take hostage the highly confused young man who seemingly broke every rule in the book by sleeping with Joanna Going (Tucker's mother) when she went into rehab, a rehab Tucker describes in the dialog as one he "spent a lot of money on." But, being Kingdom, it doesn't stop there. When Going tried to end the awkward relationship, the young man upped the ante by forcing himself on her. And, to atone for his sins, he chooses to visit Going at her home at a time when she herself is not there but Tucker's character, high as a kite, and fresh from winning a new MMA belt, is more than willing to "discuss" the affair with him. Like a spider with a fly.
