The truth of the situation
bkoganbing17 November 2016
This Blue Bloods story is one where Steve Schirippa as Bridget Moynahan's investigator gets to shine. She and her father Tom Selleck are feeling the heat and they were on opposite sides of a program for rehabilitation of non-violent offenders, her for it and her father against it.

Daniel Watts whom she recommended for the program is the prime suspect in a cop killing. He was arrested fairly close to the scene and surveillance video showed he was carrying a gun.

It's Schirippa's good work that brings out the truth in the situation. No one walks away from this one completely vindicated.

There's one really dramatic scene where Moynahan meets with Liza J. Bennett and she hauls off and slaps Moynahan really hard. That's a scene watch a hundred times in reruns and still be jolted. Bennett also as the grieving widow gets two scenes and she's outstanding.

One of the best Blue Bloods episodes I've seen.

Warning: Spoilers
While this was a very good episode on the usually outstanding television show, this was definitely liberal oriented.

When the Mayor signed off on a plan to give offenders a second chance, it appears that our D.A.'s decision to grant remission to a major offender shall come back to haunt her when the guys is later accused of shooting a police officer to death.

Rightfully so, the widow of the officer, hysterical, comes into the office and slaps Megan in the face.

The fact that later on in the show it was determined that the guy was not the cop killer apparently lead to Megan being off the hook. We're trivializing here. While it is true that he wasn't the killer, he was seen committing armed robbery with a gun. Does the just robbing a store lets you off in relation to a murder?

Warning: Spoilers
My biggest complaints about this show is the fact that they have just thrown basic police procedures and even the most basic and more commenly known facts to the wind. In this episode they have an AWOL officer who is suffering from Drug addiction, and Danny and Baez get into a running argument over having him busted and kicked off the force of sending him to get help. OK first off you cannot be a drug user to get into the police department, however, once inside if you become an adict (whether its alcohol or drugs) the ADA rules demand that the user gets onto a program to over come the adiction. If you refuse to admit you have a problem and refuse the treatment you will THEN be subject to termination. So Danny's entire argument is stupid and there was also no reason to sneak around. The second issue I have is an ongoing problem where, when an officer is killed in the line of duty, the police wear a black patch across their badges out of mourning and respect. They never do this in the show.
