Very good

Brilliant episode in fact. The only reason I'm not giving it a 10 is because I'm a nurse and could spot about 100 inaccuracies 🙈

Great episode but I hated it.

Warning: Spoilers
This episode carry's tension throughout, but also frustrated me to no end. The people they save are so selfish, no one checked Sams pulse, the police officer who doesn't listen. Again, the lying jerk whom they saved lying over and over agin meanwhile he is a Murdered. Not sure how Sam was able to drag his mostly dead ass out of the woods..... yet I could not stop watching and hoping the boys would somehow make it through another episode alive!

Goes a long way to correct the revolving door of death
CubsandCulture19 October 2020
This episode-a pretty good werewolf story-has the virtue of grounding the stakes for the Winchester for the later season. The show had a bad habit of using the revolving door of death for a lot of characters but especially the Winchesters. Billy and this episode's gritty vibe help to correct that and largely ends the show's reliance on that sort of plotting. The revolving door is still present after this but it seems less central.

Perfection

This was one of the best episodes of any TV show, that i have ever seen. I was totally riveted to the screen, could not look away.

This was like an action/horror movie in 42 minutes, no minute was wasted.

The brothers didn't need to talk about how much they love each other, it was there in plain sight the entire time.

Jared and Jensen are still bringing the emotion and connection even after all this time, their emotion and pain felt so real, it leapt right out of the screen. Brilliant performances from everyone involved and the direction was flawless. Right up there with Baby as my favourite episodes of S11.

This is an excellent episode that combines everything that makes Supernatural great: action, emotion, uncertainty...and amazing acting. Jared and Jenson are reliably great, "Michelle", actress Erin Way, has always stood out to me in this episode. She 1000% effectively breaks your heart as you can see all over her face how much pain (mostly emotional, but also physical) she's in. Her performance is perfectly compelling and understated all at once. I would love for the writers to bring her back at some point. And I always love when "Billie", aka Lisa Berry, makes an appearance. It's one of those episodes that make you think about how thin the line between good and evil really can be.

Love that after all this time Sam & Dean's willingness to die for each other hasn't changed one bit. Jared nailed his parts

Good amount of tension. Every minute was put to good use and not once did I look away from the screen. This episode made me feel things I usually don't while watching the show. An anger that kept my heart beating harder and faster, coupled with understanding and a little bit of empathy. Absolutely fantastic.

A News Flash

Warning: Spoilers
You actually can jump from episode that have 9+ ratings, to each other, and miss little of the essential plot line...but should you?

I say no. Perhaps, when the series has ended, it might be the best way to stream (there are 12 seasons at present, and no signs of immediate ending), yet if these are "live" to you, as they are to me, i suggest you watch 'em. If you've watched more than 2 seasons, and you really should, and if you enjoy the show, then please watch ALL the episodes.

The creative staff spends (expends?) an awful lot of effort making the filler episodes interesting and enjoyable, and this is episode is a very good example of that. While it is certainly not worth the "10 out of 10" rating i have allotted, it is very much worth seeing.

See, there's an interesting, normal, existential, and practical side to the creative input in this show that seldom fails to fascinate: unlike Star Trek Deep Space 9, where "filler" episodes were true throw- aways, The extraneous episodes of Supernatural have a lot to offer.

Philosophically, while a show like FIREFLY has an innate value value in every episode (fleshing out the universe ('verse)) has its own fascination - even if you disallow Whedon's input - there CAN be innate value in a show's filler episodes...as long as the creative staff makes it so.

To set the stage for all "later" filler episodes of Supernatural, please bear this in mind: The brothers become - and this is a natural occurrence - somewhat complacent about "ordinary" evil supernatural phenomena...

Please, attend the psychological effects of succeeding at a grand scale: you become quite unconcerned about your ability to handle things at a much lesser scale. And, in fact, (if you view preceding episodes and demon's reaction to encountering the Winchesters), the bad guys are stunned to discover that Sam and Dean are merely human!

Add to this the fact that they have occasionally (in the past) possessed super-human abilities, their latter-day complacency is not merely understandable, but a necessary adjunct to their current character growth.

As Dick Francis's recurring character pronounces (P.S. if interested in Dick Francis's mysteries, do yourself a favor and do NOT watch the ITN series...ITN wasn't very good back then, you'll have to read the books) : (Sid Halleck) "It's not that we're that good, it's just that we've discovered things, and evil folk are over-compensating" (paraphase/ not quote!!!); one should bear in mind that success has its own series of penalties, psychologically unavoidable, and chronicalling said performance degradation has its own merit.

So may it be with Caesar.

Great pacing and atmosphere, ridiculous tho
shwetafabm24 July 2020
Sam's medical state is just ridiculous, it's not a problem if the hurt or underpowered hero wins ove rthe villains by simple action but when the plot hinges on his medical state being so poor, it just is annoying. The entire feel and pacing of Sam and Dean's situation was great tho. Also what Dean did is not cute, when will they stop this.

So Dean Can't Check A Pulse Now?
derekfb11 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Spoilers, but who cares? Who writes this garbage? Sam dies, apparently, and Dean checks his pulse and heartbeat. These are two things anyone can do. You don't need to be a medical professional to check a pulse. So to think that Dead Winchester of all people can't check a pulse correctly, OMFG!!! Sam wasn't dead, only unconscious. That's pretty freakin' bad! At the end they explain this by saying Sam was mostly dead. "Mostly dead" was a joke made up in the movie Princess Bride because there's obviously no such thing as "mostly dead" and only an idiot would write that into an episode as a medical fact.

Warning: Spoilers
We've seen this before. This felt like little more than fan service, bringing back a stupid situation to involve the Reaper. Sam and Dean are unbelievably stupid hauling people through the woods, and everything keeps turning on them 'getting a signal.' It was super predictable. I felt like Jared and Jensen were trying their best to emote, but their lines were just agonized crying "Sam!" "No!" etc. The editing was choppy and felt like a hundred cuts between locations. False tension from the 'adult' werewolves following. Just the worst.

In THIS episode they parallel the relationship of a marriage with one of two brothers ... that's all you have to know about this SHOW. The episode IS very PRO family and that INdiCatES The true heart of the show. Sometimes the amount of blood is SO GROSS. But it's a great show anyways!

This episode made me angry!
joedf27 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Great acting from Jared (Sam) and Jensen (Dean), but I really did not like Corbin. When Sam got shot and was being patched up by Dean, Corbin kept pushing Dean to untie them first. I knew right then, that was a bad sign... The gunshot is more critical. Corbin could have waited 10 seconds. Then later on, he felt justified killing Sam in order to convince Dean to leave Sam behind in order save them... He's been dishonest from the beginning of the episode, and was lying throughout. And finally, Corbin then wants to change his girlfriend into a werewolf when she clearly did not want that. I know it's an impossible situation, but this Corbin guy really went too far and ruined the episode for me.
