Delphine returns to court to help Charles track down the Red Knights, but is murdered by Christophe having recognized him, Bash finds out and kills Christophe after tricking him into betraying the other Red Knights. Learning Catherine protected Christophe, killed Bash's mother Diana and had Claude beaten to win the regency, Bash also resigns as Deputy of France to join Mary on Scottish campaign, with chancellor Narcisse, who hopes to liberate his wife Lola, whom Gideon also seeks to help. Although there's only a short window to cross the North Sea while the English fleet is docked for maintenance, Mary first uses her seasoned mercenaries to protect Catherine and Charles from the uprising of their soldiers before leaves for Scotland for good.
