- TriviaWhen CJ (Djimon Hounsou) counsels Theo (Jason Patric), he paraphrases the idea that saving a life is like saving the whole world and taking a life is like destroying the whole world. This principle is found in both Hebrew and Islamic religious texts.
- GoofsAt the end of the S2 finale, as the last person (CJ) sets the computer's automatic timer to initiate his own cryogenic sleep pod, the camera zooms in on the tablet's display which reads "COUTINUING CRYOGENIC PROCESS". Clearly someone spelled the word "Continuing" wrong.

Finally over, maybe forever
I would rate the season finale higher, but it seemed to just cut off at the end with no real answer to all the build up. Like most of the season this episode had it's flaws and dragged a bit. However, the ending gave no satisfaction, we can only assume the humans fell into sleep and either the Abbies continued their evolution or died off and were replaced by another humanoid species. Either way I'd be happy if the show didn't return. While Season 2 was really good, season 2 had potential but often bogged down and spun it's wheels in confusion without direction. Wayward Pines became just another show on TV and there's few characters worth caring about.
