WHAT a finale .. what a show !! you gotta binge watch the hell out these 10 episodes.
Aktham_Tashtush14 January 2017
I first watched the leaked pilot back in October 2015 and now after more than a year i got to watch the whole season all at once , and let me tell you it was damn worth it.

So first CBS got to try with this project but they pulled out before Amazon step in and take in the project and what a lost it look right now for CBS,, the story-line is so connected and just until the finale they keep on giving us a little portion of what to come where Pete keeps on getting out of troubles just to find himself into another and the plot keeps on thickening and growing till the second half of the finale where they show you the BIG CON ... so bravo to the writers as they did and amazing job over the last year and well.. that shows on the ratings.

As for the cast , my goodness they were all engaging and on point, from Giovanni Ribisi to Marin Ireland to the great Margo Martindale and of course the huge addition and i believe what built publicity to the show, Bryan Cranston and here he just pulled another "classier" level of Heisenberg :D

Finally, you gotta do it now ,, binge watch the 10 episodes because i do believe there's gonna be a second season. When !! i just read it might take a while so maybe till 2018 !! but based on what i understood Amazon is 100% invested and prepared for a renewal and the final scene in here showed us there is a new plot ... but will it have the same or even the likes of the amazing entertaining cast of this one !! who knows... so free up your schedule next Saturday and i hope you will enjoy this season at the same amount i did.

Not as Perfect as The Previous Episode But Still Excellent
ahmad_nadal24 January 2017
It is the Perfect ending to highly good show, It's a show that you watch in you free time in a mood of watching some tricks and con. Not the best drama but the best excitement. In This episode they have given us what they had promised through the whole season and they nailed it.

Bryan Cranston did his best scene in my opinion after "Breaking Bad" in this episode, he will make you feel fear, compassion, anger & love in one moment, you will end up not knowing if you hate him or not, Mr. Cranston was simply born to act, and he was just simply being himself.

The episode ended up by opinion a new interesting story for the next season and made us exciting about it.

My rating for this episode is 9/10.

Excellent series.....but one niggling point

Warning: Spoilers
Just finished watching series one and although a little bit convoluted at times, I thought it was excellent. Ribisi as Pete was outstanding. The only thing that annoyed me was in the last episode when Pete turned up at the farm and spilled the contents of his bag onto the table - lots and lots of money. Julia then says she has to get the money back to Dockery to repay his collateral even though she just stated that she had sorted it out with him. Why did she gather up all of the money when he was only owed $100,000 - there was way more that on the table! Also, when Pete was leaving, why did Carly feel that she had to try and steal something from his pocket as she hugged him goodbye?

Haha. The poker game comes to fruition as Vince calls out the team, on the con.

Is it them?? +5 Stars

Vince almost kills Karolin. Vince catches them in the con. What great scenes.

Okay but then...it starts to go downhill a bit. The confession that Otto made to Audrey about the hit man. Silliness -1 Star.

And at the end, Pete he pays everyone off with Vince's money. He KICKS OUT his brother and Karolina and they are off to Vegas. He says bye to Otto and Audrey and family business. And then he gets captured by 2 guys who are working some completely different angle. Pete who doesn't see everything coming? Doesn't see that car following him? Okay the very end was cheesey but it does set the stage for a S2. -1 Star

All things considered a pretty good finale for S1. 8/10.

Almost finished it at 9, but the final story arc for Season 2 was on point.
ansharora-1263811 July 2020
We knew somwhere that the real Pete's past will come to haunt Marius, and it did. Season 2 will have a great start with that.

Enough about that, Marius is again broke as the money went to the owner and a bundle went to the late Charlie. These thieves had honor among them but seems a little over, considering they didn't get that much of a payout, but still, maybe they all had a relationship before season 1.

Carly's character still gives me digust and creep and Otto and Audrey gives me so much joy. Agreed this show is not that good as "Breaking Bad" or lots but that's the point, no show could ever get to Breaking Bad's level so stop bickering about it. "Character actress" Margo Martindale for the win!

Season One Review
southdavid29 September 2021
Looking for something to try on Amazon Prime we settled on Amazon original "Sneaky Pete" as I've always been a fan for Giovanni Ribisi back to the film "Boiler Room". The first season is a smart, fun crime drama that gathers weight as it runs on and is full of excellent performances.

Released from prison, con artist Marius Josipovic (Giovanni Ribisi) needs a place to hide from a Gangster, Vince (Bryan Cranston) whom he tried to swindle. He heads upstate and introduces himself to the Bowman/Bernhardt family as Pete, their grandson who they've not seen since childhood due to familial estrangement. He's able to pull this off thanks to some quickly made documents and because the real Pete was his cellmate and told detailed stories about his time on this homestead. Agreeing to pay Vince a large sum of money for the release of his brother, Marius tries to get what he can from the Bowman's, but they've got financial, ethical and criminal problems of their own.

My initial concerns, that the show might be a scam of the week type one, proved to be unfounded, with the series providing one overall story across it's ten episodes, and only occasionally relying on Cousin Pete's smart mouth to get him out of a bind. Ribisi is great in the lead role, making Marius a character you care about, even though his problems are mostly of his own making. Producer Bryan Cranston takes an uncredited role as Vince and, though I'm not sure that his 'wiseguy' is as compelling as his 'chemist teacher', he still provides a convincing danger for our lead. A host of recognisable faces act as the Bowman/Bernhardt family too, including Marin Ireland as Julia, and Peter Gerety and Margo Martindale as the patriarch and matriarch of the family. All are excellent.

I worry about how long the central theme of the show can remain convincing, however, that is a problem for a late time. For now, it's an enjoyable experience to watch.

Jesus - Cranston sure like the sound of his own voice!

Jesus - Cranston sure like the sound of his own voice!

Another godam monologue!

The only reason this is scoring so highly is because there are so many viewers who have little experience of good movie-making, drama and story-telling. It's what the TV channels churn out and they accept it because they don't know any better.

Sure, it's an interesting series with lots of good points but the writer get carried away and forget what story and plot is about. I don't care if some know-nothing exec thought it was the best thing since Citizen Kane, the writing is variable and someone somewhere should have spotted this rant and just cut it.

Boring, boring, boring.

Try watching it with some sort of critical eye, eh! And stop voting so-so series 10 all the time!

It was ok maybe good but not great

Warning: Spoilers
I am gonna be hard on this because so many people seem to like it. The show started slow and is running down hill now. All along the season he has been just getting by from his cons. But now I guess we are to believe he can pull off a con like he did that was a magnitude harder and more complex in the last minute like he did. You get the feeling the writers might be padding themself on the back too much when they deliver the last scene. Introducing a large part of the con at then with virtually no lead up is just week. If everyone did that fans would be always scratching their heads wondering what happened. I called the finale to my wife a few episodes before that he would be the hero after pretty much being a low life loser conning everyone he comes in contact with. Just starting the season 2 but my guess is a huge mess that was created will just disappear. Like killing of a cop, The fact that they made it look like a hit doesn't make sense when the 1st bullet came from the passenger side which cause the car to crash. Hope they prove me wrong. I guess I will see.
