'Greed is Good' carries on this miniseries' proud tradition of verging on buzzkill (c'mon, the '80s were awesome, right?), but there's a distinct watchability to this.
Scandalous to its core, this is a story of vile bankers an con-man televangelists all trying to swindle sweet old gram-grams out of her life savings; even while the nation can't find work. And I think that narrative's a little too convenient (no, I'm not defending the Gordon Gekkos of the world) . . . but the pacing on this bad-boy is superb! Wall-to-wall scandals, 20th century robber-barons, a culture of self-gratification. In the end, the hangover was rough (and most of the bad guys were handcuffed), but what a party.
8/10
