As of 2002 nobody is allowed into the cockpit without first knowing the code as it is air locked and it prevents hijacking.
Auto pilot wouldn't be a lever, it would be a switch on the instrument board. Also, they only show a pilot and Co pilot in the cockpit, in real life there would be a navigator that would take over if both pilots were out of commission. If for some reason all 3 were out of commission, the flight attendants KNOW how to fly the craft.
