Didn't understand the lack of concern or loyalty that Mike showed for Jared. Brokenwood has depicted a friendship and closeness between Mike and Jared but Mike did not come to Jared's defense or act like he was affected by Jared's possibly fatal condition in the hospital. The final scene with Mike, Kristen and Sam celebrating Christmas dinner happily together, without any scene or update on Jared seemed callous. No sense developing engaging characters with interwoven relationships to others, if their storyline will just be dropped for no apparent reason. Best interactions of the series are between Mike and Jared for me.
Also miss the # of scenes between Mike and Kristen, which seem to be fewer as Sam's role increases.
