The “Greek” reunion movie isn’t moving forward at Freeform, and fans have taken to Twitter to lament the end of the party. A Freeform rep confirms to TheWrap that “Greek: The Reunion” is dead, but no further details have been released. The network had announced in April 2016 that it was developing the holiday-themed TV film that would reunite the cast of the college-themed dramedy that ran for four seasons on ABC Family before signing off in March 2011. So why did Freeform scrap its planned Greek reunion movie? We tracked down the show’s top Ep and, turns out, it’s all Greek to him.
On Thursday, TVLine broke the news that Freeform has quietly abandoned plans to produce a two-hour holiday-themed Greek revival. A network rep has yet to provide an explanation. And, as series creator Sean Smith tells us, he is similarly waiting for some clarification on the matter.
“I delivered a script to Freeform in February that they seemed to love enough to want to move forward,” Smith explains. “We reached out to the cast.

Bad news, Greek fans: The highly-anticipated return to Cypress-Rhodes University is no longer happening. At least, not on Freeform. E! At its April 7th Upfront presentation, Freeform announced it is making a holiday movie reuniting the characters from the network's Greek TV series. Greek: The Reunion movie will revisit the characters from the original series, with a five-year reunion at Cypress Rhodes University. Greek was cancelled by ABC Family in 2011, after four seasons of 74 episodes.
Greek creator Patrick Sean Smith is discussing the project, which is currently in development. He also talks about how the stars feel.
