Sex & Nudity

  • There is quite a bit of onscreen violence throughout the season; multiple people are shot, mutilated by the creatures from the mist, and violently killed; one particularly shocking but non-violent death shows a little girl having the life sucked out of her and turning to ash.
  • Many shootings. Many bloody, supernatural deaths. Severe beatings. Several murders.

Profanity

  • While profanity was limited while aired on TV, streaming services show the less censored cut which includes several uses of stronger language (f**k and etc)

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The overall tone of the series is frightening and intense as people are both attacked by the creatures in the mist and begin turning on each other.

Sex & Nudity

  • Sexual encounters are seen throughout the season, including but not limited to talk of a rape, a married couple having sex, two strangers having sex in the back of a vehicle, and two teenage boys having offscreen sex in a hospital bathroom. No explicit nudity
  • The rape of the protagonist's daughter at a party is one of the main plot points of the season. We don't see the actual rape but we do see her confused and distressed reaction afterwards (she was unconscious). The rape is constantly and explicitly discussed throughout the season, both in reference to the victim and to the main suspect.

Violence & Gore

  • A dog is killed offscreen (its screams can be heard). Shortly after we see its extremely graphic body.
  • In episode 2 a body is seen with its arm ripped off, and a body is seen wit a missing eye.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Several characters drink alcohol. A character is drugged with implications off-screen. One character is drug-addicted and uses pills. Several people drink wine.
