0 out of 10, because I can't give it a negative score.

Warning: Spoilers
Ignore the 1 out of 10, I accidentally clicked on it and I can't work out how to take it back. This is so far beyond awful that there isn't a suitable adjective to describe it that can be uttered in polite company. I just saw the third episode of this show. Not the third episode I've seen, thank God, just the third episode of season 1. If I ever watch another episode of this it will only be because I've been kidnapped by Francis Dolarhyde and he's developing a new torture technique. Firstly, the host is not only the most annoying man on television, he's possibly the most annoying person in the history of people. The episode in question involved a "Hardcore Build" on a Hayabusa, a Hayabusa which had already been ministered to by the shop in question, going by the terrible stretched (and branded with the shop logo) swingarm it was sporting (why do these things even exist?) but apparently it needed even more fixin'. A 10 day deadline was established. Why? No reason was given, just, for some reason, that it had to be done in 10 days. What then followed was the most contrived and painful to watch television I've ever seen. My previous low bar was Jesse James is a Dead Man but this limboed under that horror show with ease. As each of his specialist buddies turned up with goodies (a stretched single sided swingarm, an ugly exhaust etc.) they then hung around to assist in the build. So short was the deadline that he apparently needed the help of these experts who were so good at what they do that they had nothing better to do with their time for 10 days. After their paint guy showed up and the bodywork disappeared, it was hammer and tongs into the build. The deadline must have been even tighter than they made out because, over the course of the 10 day build (where between 3 and 5 people did what appeared to amount to little more than about 8 man-hours of work), they all wore the same clothes. The clothes they were wearing when the build was complete, 10 days later (allegedly), were the exact same clothes they were wearing at the start of the episode. It wasn't as if one of them was an Albert Einstein fan and wore the same outfit everyday, they all did. This was particularly easy to tell because they were all wearing distinctive and very individual T-Shirts. After a gruelling build (it was gruelling to watch anyway) the paint guru came back with their bodywork. There was much oohing and ahhing about how spectacular the paintjob was, before they then set about trimming part of it away to clear the exhaust. Why they never did this at the start is yet another mystery that I'm not interested in getting to the bottom of. The bike was eventually completed and they all went for a ride (Huzzah) which was just an excuse for 3 minutes of artsy slow motion footage of motorcycles riding along a highway, a couple of burnouts, and then a lot or crapping on about how awesome the bike was. How this show ever made it past the pilot I'll never know.

Toymakerz ?? Daytime soap opera for gearheads??
max-480463 May 2022
Not sure what this show is supposed to be about. Not really a car or motorcycle show, more of a badly written soap opera. This junk has been on Motor Tread all day, where's Gilligan's Island? At least there is some resemblance to real show on Gilligan's, not so with this show.. Good thing I have video on demand so I can salvage the rest of the day. Please put real automotive shows back on.

This show is terrible.

I'm not sure how or who thinks this deserves to be broadcasted on TV but this show is mindless, uninteresting, and really just fabricated, low intelligence, drama.

Just awful
sfostercross29 June 2022
The talent is there on the show, but Ankin is so overly obnoxious and 'macho', that after a few episodes I just couldn't watch it any more. He squints his eyes and uses his hands to make a point with an over-the-top attitude and it's just cringey. And he just so happens to win EVERY racing competition on the show, coming back at the last second to secure victory. Riiiight.

Why?!?
robertaguilar6614 July 2022
Why dose this "toy maker" think he's making one of a kind customs? Every part he gets are all 100% bolt ons! I only watch it go see how dumb he looks thinking he's really doing something new. This show is up there with unique rides, unique wipes, geared up, and The Auto Firm with Alex Vega! Keep up the bad work.

Edit: this third season is the worst one of them all. Lots of dumb skits and this giy gets other peoples vehicles and just adds he's logos. For the love of God I can't believe professional crews take their vehicles to this shop.

Horribly fake scripted "show"
cmyers-7668321 July 2022
I really wanted to not do this but it's really bad! All "reality" shows are subject to some point but c'mon, act like it's not 100% BS. I don't know if they actually make cool stuff in real life, I'd like to think so but this show is beyond sad. I've seen better acting on websites that usually involve "tube" in their name.

I want that hour of my life back!!

Warning: Spoilers
I watched the 5thgen Camaro build. If you eliminate all the unnecessary slo-mo sequences, the "Ooing and Ahing" when a new part arrives, and the ridiculous commentary by Ankin, the show would be 10min long. But in that 10min they only manage to slap a few bolt on parts in order to completely miss their self imposed target horsepower goal. All the while chest bumping each other while shouting "Big Block!"... in reference to the 6.0l SBC engine in the Camaro.

Ankin has little talent beyond miming small boxes when he speaks, and his crew has little talent beyond booty smooching everything Ankin does.

Save yourself the mental anguish and pass on this series.

The WORST Show on Motortrend TV
sdb-1918518 August 2022
I am a hardcore gearhead and car builder since the 1970's. I have great respect for the master craftsmen and fabricators on the MT network. Guys like Chip Foose, Dave Kindig and Joe Martin command respect because of their incredible design and fab work. I also love Roadkill and think Dulcich and Freiburger are awesome as well as very funny. The star of this show, David Ankin is the most talent-less, annoying and egotistical person on the network. His builds (which you can't even consider builds) are a total joke consisting of bolt ons and wraps. He is a whiny little baby that has to win every competiton he has with his crew and others. Why this show was given a 3rd season is beyond the scope of my comprehension. Wake Up MOTORTREND! Cancel this loser! Give us more of my other previously mentioned shows and stop wasting my time and that of your viewers. How many bad reviews will it take? Avoid this loser show At All Costs!!!!

All the drama and ego you don't want
themosquito17 August 2022
Builds based on an inflated ego and more drama than a soap opera. Should be called "DramaMakers" or "EgoMakers". Just another car shop soap opera with a few car things thrown in so people think it is a car show.
