A rare and original little gem
byulafe8 December 2020
A quirky, darling, out of the ordinary film about very ordinary things presented in a very humorous and surprisingly original fashion. With perfect tempo and perfect length. Leaves you with a smile and your heart tingling (with zero schmaltz). Has a touch of genius. A rare little gem. Highly recommended!

Might be the simplest movie I've seen
manofgirth1 October 2021
Not sure what brought me to this flick, but I read some reviews and decided to give it a shot one morning. Definitely not disappointed. I think there are 5 people seen on screen with talking parts, one you might recognize if you saw "Scareface" and a couple other pass byes. Props to the ladies who got this done. Proof that you can do it if you try hard enough. I will be watching for them again.

No better way to stay cool than with this movie.

Napoleon Dynamite + Veggie Tales + Sybil = The Planters. Martha Plant and her friends takes you on quite a journey in this amazing indie film. I enjoyed it start to finish. Weird for all the right reasons.

A clear homage to Wes Anderson
twyjrqf28 November 2021
Every aspect: the symmetrical shots, typed letters, narration, dead pan earnest delivery, stop motion animation, color palette, closeups for effect, and whimsical music drip with Wes Anderson's style. It is obvious the filmmakers are fans of Anderson and wanted to put their own spin on his specific vision. It mostly works and for fans of this whimsical film style it has things to enjoy. What is most fun is to find all the stylistic callbacks to Anderson and see them through another filmmakers lens.

I like different.
runall-9890127 January 2022
Different. That's what I should answer when I am asked "what types of movies do I like." Less is more when it comes to film. A movie that keeps me intrigued is my game. No blood, murder, sex scenes, gore are involved. Kind of different.

Interesting, but ultimately not worth the time
kbellenfant8 December 2020
I get it, this low budget, not even B movie can't really be compared to something you might pay money to go see. It is so quirky that's it's almost interesting but it ultimately falls short and is just a waste of time.

Fun

Interesting, quirky. This is mainly dry humor, quirky characters. In the mix there is some claymation figure scenes.

It's an ok movie
fluffchop24 December 2021
Compared to all other movies that it could have been it isn't much. Not much happens. There aren't many people in it. It's trying to be quirky and whimsical rather than having a solid plot, writing, direction and acting. It's an ok movie. It's certainly not worthy of all the 7-10 scores. You've got to be bloody kidding with those scores. That's like saying out of all movies this one is the best a movie can be? Come off it!! It's a 3/10 at most.

To cope or not to cope
josefhuberII15 December 2020
We all have problems, some more, some even more more.

So, if you like explosions, car chases, people randomly shooting at each other, then you should prolly not watch this ingenious pearl. If you have a functioning brain, and want to be slightly amused and perhaps mildly surprised, then you could give it a try.

One thing for a fact is sure, you will never look at and into a tin box at the same way ever again. :)

Solid flick
taya-9586525 September 2021
The storyline was fresh, the characters strangely likeable and believable. Not a Hollywood cookie cutter, moneymaker for the mases.

I want to see more works from these writers!

It's quirky and relatable. A lovely indie film made by some very talented women. Very excited to purchase this - I saw it twice when it was screening!

Very Unique
farleym-1944213 February 2022
I wish i had taken a course in criticism in college so I could be a critic or a reviewer but instead I am just going to go with my gut. I liked this movie for it's stripped down simplicity. And ease of viewing. Such odd characters but yet I knew them so well. When it was over I felt good.... better than before I watched the movie. Why? Hell I don't know.

Great Movie!

I enjoyed this movie very much. The characters are kind of quirky. There is a real Wes Anderson vibe. The acting is great. If you enjoy eccentric and hilarious movies, this is for you!

Unexpected whimsy
theknownames17 November 2021
A pleasant surprise form this delightful and engaging movie. The pacing and direction are superb , the costuming and color choices are exceptional . It took me a minute to settle in and accept what this is. A whimsical comedic take on the life of a life of a lonely telemarketer .The plot and story are familiar yet the delivery was completely unexpected.

It's sort of a 'day in the life ' and not a 'beginning middle end ' movie .

After circling back to the preview several times, I took a chance. It's a short movie to begin with but it flew by .. The pacing, length and plot interpretation make this unique . I was fascinated that it not only held my interest but by the time it was over everyone in the house was gathered around taking solace from and enjoying this sweet little slice of desert fantasy .

Weirdly unique

Both female stars were very good at pulling off there characters. Crazy, spiritual, and funny, I wanted the movie to keep on going and hope I can see a couple more movies like this in my lifetime.

I mean, yeah. It's got a certain something
cscott233124 October 2021
I mean it's just so original and so goofy!

I remember seeing Napoleon Dynamite the first time and knowing everyone in my family would love it...and they did. Just so different and dry and quirky. This one was too. It made me laugh out loud. Simple story with a very small cast and it works. Did for me anyway.
