Man, those last five minutes...
AdamDroge18 May 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Now that we have the British Men of Letters out of the way, it's time to focus on the stuff that makes Supernatural so great. The Winchester brothers fighting alongside Crowley and Castiel against Lucifer.

This season was a mixed bag for me and it's mostly because of all the British Men of Letters stuff bogging this season down. But when we focused on this other arc, that's when things were really interesting. It felt like classic Supernatural.

The character that I really felt bad for this season was Kelly Kline, played fantastically by Courtney Ford. I mean, all she did was have an affair with the president. She had no idea that Lucifer had possessed that president at the time of the affair and that she now was carrying his son, which in this Supernatural universe is a Nephilim, which means bad news. Lucifer and son ruling the galaxy is a very bad thing. Deep inside Kelly knows that she should get rid of her son, but what's she supposed to do? It's her child and she wants to keep him and love him. And even when she tries to kill herself, that doesn't exactly work.

Courtney Ford really brings a ton to this role as Kelly, especially in this finale as she is about to give birth to this Nephilim. She knows she is about to die, and thus the emotions are high, but all she wants to do is love him. She's not going to be able to do much for him because she won't be around, but the moments of her recording her love and trying to build a crib really got to me.

Meanwhile over on Sam and Dean's side of things, they've finally learned what Crowley has done and are talking about what to do when Crowley shows up. I'm really glad that he didn't die in the previous episode. That had me worried. But no, he possessed a rat for a bit to stay alive and is now back. And the conversations where he decides that he didn't want to be the king of Hell anymore also got to me. Crowley has been one of the most interesting characters on this show over the past eight or so seasons that he's been on the show and if this was his final episode, I think this was a great way to wrap up his arc, but I'll get to that in a second.

In typical finale format, we spend much of the episode successfully building to one final moment. It's very suspenseful, edge-of-your- seat drama as you know that something big is coming and that Lucifer is most likely going to do some awful things when he finally figures out where the gang is. All of this builds to the final five minutes, which had my jaw on the floor.

So much to process is so little time. First off, it was fantastic seeing Jim Beaver back. Killing Bobby wasn't one of this show's best decisions, but it's always fun seeing how creative they are in bringing him back for cameo appearances. This time around in an alternate dimension that Lucifer's son has created. And speaking of this alternate dimension, we have a game plan to trap Lucifer here thanks to Crowley. And so much stuff happens as they put this plan into progress.

After luring Lucifer into the alternate dimension, Dean distracts him while Crowley and Sam prepare the ritual to close the portal, which of course requires a life. Who's it going to be? Well, Crowley and Lucifer now get into a verbal fight where Lucifer assures that Crowley is going to lose, as he always does. Which Crowley replies to by agreeing with that. And stabbing himself.

Wow! I don't know if this is the last of Mark A. Sheppard and Crowley on this show, but if it is, what a way to go. To go from King of Hell to sacrificing himself to stop Lucifer and to help Sam and Dean is incredible.

Then Sam and Dean escape into the normal dimension and Castiel jumps into the alternate dimension? What in the heck was he thinking. Soon Castiel and Lucifer are back out and Lucifer stabs Castiel.

Jaw dropped. Is that the end of Castiel? I certainly hope not. But what a brutal way to end if that is. Misha Collins, I hope you find your way back onto this show next season because it would feel a bit empty without you.

Saving everyone in this season is none other than Mary Winchester. With the help of some enchanted brass knuckles, punches Lucifer back into the portal, where she and Lucifer are stuck when the portal finally closes. Holy cow!

By the way, can I just quickly say how glad I am that Mark Pellegrino has been back as Lucifer this season? Lucifer in various suits has still been great, but the best Lucifer has still been Mark Pellegrino. And it was the absolute best seeing him billed as a lead role along with Jared, Jensen, Misha Collins and Mark Sheppard instead of just a guest star or special guest star.

So now the dust has settled and what do we have? Kelly Kile: Dead. Crowley: Dead. Castiel: Dead Mary Winchester: Trapped. Lucifer: Trapped. We'll see in the next season who stays dead and trapped and who shows up again. But for now it's just Sam, Dean and Demon Child. Which by the way, that final shot, showing Jack the Nephilim in the corner was a fantastic way to end this episode. So chilling.

Now we have to wait a few months to see what happens next. If this is going the direction I think it's going, season 13 should be pretty fantastic!

A great episode if you're not a petulant child and you understand story development.

Warning: Spoilers
This is the first time I've written a review here and it's in response to the people complaining about some of the cast dying. I get it, everyone has their fan favorites. While I don't think Castiel's story is complete, I understand the sadness of seeing that character die. I understand why people are upset over Crowley dying. However if you stop having the emotional response of a twelve year old and think about it, killing the King of Hell and offing Castiel at least temporarily is something this show needs to take the next step otherwise the show is just going to plod along like it did in seasons six, seven, and eight. The Crowley story arc felt like it was wrapping up anyways and it was great to see him going out on his own terms. His death had true meaning and wasn't a throw away death like Charlie or EIleen's were.

As far as the episode itself, my commentary isn't much different from what a lot of positive reviews have said on it. Easily one of the best finales of Supernatural in terms on content, direction, acting, plot, etc. I ask everyone to go into this episode with an adult mentality and look at the episode for what it is; not what your fanboy/fangirl mentality believes how it should be. Better yet, just go watch all six seasons of GOT so you can get experienced at watching your favorite characters being killed off. That will numb your fanboy attitude.

This was best finales since Swan Song like 5-6 seasons back or so lol Granted (no spoilers) some things happen that are very unpleasing, the emotions feel real, tensions high, and the cliffhanger...WHAT!? What Happens when we combine Supernatural and a Shakespearean Tradgey
reneelbuck19 May 2017
Warning: Spoilers
We all had a feeling an episode like this was coming, and honestly, I am surprised the rating isn't higher. I had mixed feelings about last season's finale, it was good but not by finale standards. The same cannot be said about this episode.

Let's start out with each character:

Kelly: I have always found her annoying and did not appreciate the forced thing between her and Castiel (even if it was acted well). However, in this episode it was different, I genuinely felt bad that she had to die when she believes her baby will be good. I think she was brave to give birth and I am glad she was strong enough to leave a message for him.

Mary: Honestly, I thought she was going to die last episode, but I am glad she stuck around. We finally realize why she joined BMOL and how much she wants to be forgiven for it. She was a better suited partner for Kelly than Cas, since she gave birth twice. I am glad she got a cool finish.

Crowley: He is the favorite anti-hero and is the most likely dead out of every character. I am glad if he had to go it was on his own terms and it was on the side that he always rooted for... The Winchesters.

Bobby: I am glad we kept the streak of Bobby appearing at least once a season, short and to the point. 12 years and counting.

Lucifer: Mark Pellegrino was partially right. I do not know how I feel about Lucifer. I do not have him for his actions because he is evil. However, I do know if I love him as much as I did. Regardless he was incredible to watch and Mark hit it out of the park as always. Wonder if that is the last we will see of him? Me too.

Sam: I think Sam's big episode was the last episode. It was a well- acted episode by Jared and he got the amazing ending.

Dean: Dean lost a family member by the end of this episode. Lately Dean has been more emotional than Sam, and it shows here more than in "All We Are." We watch as he tries to run to him before Sam pulls him away, and how he waits by his body while Sam goes in for the Nephilim. Before thinking about it, we know who the real family member is.

Castiel: I had a huge loss last night. I lost my favorite character. Dean and Sam lost a family member and a brother. He protected the Winchesters like always, and I never wanted to see the wing imprints in the ground ever.

The episode worked so well with only 8 characters (9 if you count Jack Nephilim). Every scene had this darkness looming over like the worst was yet to come. We all realize now they were leading up to the last 5 minutes.

The last five minutes of this episode pack more action than the rest of the season combined. Never have we lost 5 characters that were well loved and had great episodes. Rowena, Crowley, Cas, Mary and Lucifer. I am a firm believer that the big questions on who actually survived will not be answered until next season. I just hope we get a satisfying conclusion, because right now I do not like hoping Jack Nephilim is good or at least an antihero. This is probably the saddest finale we have had yet (Even more than Sacrifice and maybe even Swan Song), for the sole purpose of watching the Winchesters lose their entire family and friends.

Wow, now that was some season finale
Kingslaay30 May 2017
I have always looked forward to Supernatural Season Finales because they have produced some gut wrenching moments and cliff hangers.

This was a great finale to a season that has been quite mixed. Season 12 ranged from good to great episodes. We saw better directed episodes and interesting one off story lines that explored various parts of the Supernatural universe. Some story lines did not fly like Lucifer hopping from vessel to vessel and Mary returning only to be absent as if she had never returned at all. I appreciated the action packed episodes and unique brand of monsters and powers such as the Witch magic they faced with the brother and sister hunters.

This finale was eventful from the start. While all episodes in the season felt short this felt long because so much happened and the show didn't pull any punches for its finale. The rip in time caused by the Nephilim to open a gateway to an alternative world was fantastic and how his birth would lead to things getting biblical which took it up a notch. It was so good to see Bobby Singer (Jim Beaver) return for an episode. The verdict is still out on whether he should have been killed off as he was a great character, certainly worked better with him than bringing Mary back. In this alternate reality Bobby is fighting in the apocalypse, a great reference to how the Winchesters saved the world. This was also intelligently done as one could infer that Azael maybe chose other children or other two brothers were chosen for vessels who agreed to it. Great references and protecting previous story lines and continuity.

The battle with Lucifer was great and kept you on the edge. This finale really saw characters just drop like flies. The first unseen death was Rowena who is probably not coming back. The Winchesters along with Cass, Mary and Crowley work together to take on the Devil. This time the team worked beautifully and utilized the main characters really well unlike the poor season finale last season where they mainly just sat around and exchanged words.

This was a great and very eventful finale, some shocking moments for sure. The beauty of Supernatural as a show and its genre is the ability to reinvent itself and create new situations. I believe they have opened many doors for the show and turned it on its head. This is one of the better season finales in the last few seasons. Besides the Apocalypse related finales my personal favorite finales were the gates of hell, the trials and the first blade season that saw the Mark of Cain and Dean becoming a Demon. After a period of good/great finales it was wonderful to see a quality Season finale where so much happened and left a lot of loose ends for Season 13 to address. Hopefully Season 13 capitalizes on these events for a thrilling season.

I'll never recover from this.
parasramacting19 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Oh my god. Let's go over this episode's contents. We can see Crowley being the cockroach that he is as he cheats death and recovers like he always does from his nasty situations (through a rat lol) Dean meeting Crowley again after their romantic reunion in the casual seasonal finale lol. Crowley shows up to the fight against Lucifer, we discover the existence of another world where Sam was never born where the apocalypse was never diverted. But this is the part that crushes my heart. 4 major characters die in this episode. We say goodbye to people we've known for years on end. We say goodbye to Castiel, the kind and loving angel who began to love humanity and felt their sympathies and was willing to give his life for a world without pain and suffering, who understood humanity and his ignorance always charmed us and made us laugh who we had known and loved for years. Crowley, the charming and former king of hell who although had done horrible things, somehow managed to capture our hearts and make us sympathize with his death, Kelly Kline, the poor woman who didn't deserve death yet approached it with a smile in hopes that her child would bring the promised world without pain and suffering, and Mary Winchester, the woman who had missing from the lives of the brothers for decades and they had to lose her again in front of them. I'm never going to recover from this episode, ever.

Brings the worst season to a merciful close but Crowley deserved better
CubsandCulture5 July 2021
The episode itself is pretty good and it plays better than much of season 12. But it is clear that the writers were trying to clear the board to move onto season 13. Most of their choices-i.e. Jack being fully "grown" alternative realities-make sense in context and help season 13 be a lot more engaging. But I do not like Cas' "fate"-we know it is not gonna stick and it distracts from the other hero moments. I especially do not like how Crowley ends up. Crowley was a huge part of the show for 7 years; while I understand both the actor and the writers didn't know what to do with the character anymore there was no reason to couple his big hero moment with both Cas and Mary doing something similar. The character should have ended as the only star. I would have preferred if Crowley ended a few episodes earlier. The plot complications that required a further way to remove the character could have been easily avoided as well. If Crowley wasn't gonna to get a solo hero moment he might as well have died when his machinations finally failed.

Season on the whole:

Average episode score: 6.8261

Best 3 episodes:

1. "Regarding Dean" 2. "The Future" 3. "The Memory Remains"

Worst 3 episodes

21. "First Blood" 22. "Who We Are" 23. "Twigs & Twine & Tasha Banes"

Season 12 is the worst season in the show's run. Had season 13 not course corrected as rapidly as it did I doubt I would have finished the show. As it is my fondness for the other 14 seasons are the only reason why I sat through this stuff twice (once when it first came out and once while watching it to review it) I highly doubt I will ever watch the season again and only "Regarding Dean" is going to be in my viewing rotation. The season is utterly tedious.

I don't think it is coincidence that the showrunner changed again this season to Dabb; the 3 worst seasons up to this point (season 1, season 6, and season 12) all had new show runners for their respective years. The main problems in season 12 are 1) the British Men of Letters are too high tech, spy to fit in with blue collar, on the road vibe the show has in every other season, 2) the plot developments around the BMOL are tedious as they are rote, 3) Ketch aside literally no BMOL character is interesting and 4) the Lucifer-Kline storyline is not given enough time to fully develop.

Like both season 6 and season 1, the show is unsure of its footing in season 12. There is way to much throw whatever you can think of and see if it sticks coupled with too much we *know* this works because we did it in the past. But unlike season 1 and season 6, season 12 has no real high points or novelty. It also has the longest stretch with flat out bad episodes in the middle of the season. I am not entirely sure how "Regarding Dean" got made because so many episodes around it are terrible.

A betrayal of the show and everyone who loves it
asheswrites19 May 2017
Warning: Spoilers
This episode, all on its own, would have been remarkably bad, even in as spotty a season as this one. But Andrew Dabb's meandering and pointlessly cruel season 12 finale looks all the worse for having airing immediately after 12.22, an episode that showcased many of Supernatural's best assets and, but for tying up a few loose ends, may as well have been the actual season finale.

The episode wastes no time in bringing the audience down from the emotional high of the previous episode, dispatching the Winchesters' sometimes-enemy, sometimes-ally Rowena (Ruth McConnell) off-screen and sending her off as a charred corpse at Lucifer's (Mark Pellegrino) feet. Just a week previously, the show provoked significant backlash for killing off Eileen (Shoshannah Stern), a Deaf hunter who became a fan favorite from two previous episodes, in a cold open in which she spoke no lines. Dispatching Rowena, the longest-surviving female character in a series with a serious shortage of women, comes off as incredibly ill-conceived and oblivious for a show that so proudly boasts of its special connection with its (largely female) fan base.

But the most outrageous and pointless death of the episode was that of Castiel (Misha Collins, who in a bit of cruel irony was celebrating his 100th episode of the series). The angel who raised Dean (Jensen Ackles) out of Hell nine seasons ago, and subsequently fell from grace for the love of humanity, was literally stabbed in the back in the last minutes of the episode, leaving only moments for Dean to silently mourn his fallen friend before the cut to black.

The rest of the episode was a confusing tangle of uncertain motivations and pointless actions, such as Crowley's (Mark Sheppard) death as part of a spell to seal a dimensional rift that did not actually close until the plot required it, several minutes later. Supernatural has certainly suffered from failures of narrative logic before, but such things used to be mere lapses in otherwise good episodes.

What good there was in this finale came in spite of the writing, notably the performance of Courtney Ford as dying expectant mother Kelly. A better script would have given her the send-off she deserved, too; but these days, that seems to be too much to ask of Supernatural.

I am so glad this season is finally over
shwetafabm29 July 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Never have i ever suffered this much watching a show. Never. Probably because i would have quit watching but 12 seasons in... That's hard to do. This episode had me entertained. Not much happens. The baby creates a rift in space and time, pretty cool. I didn't like the alternate reality story from Bobby, didn't make much sense especially angels, they are dicks but why would Bobby kill them if the war is between angels and demons. We saw Crowley do the bullets long ago, i think in S8. Anyway i didn't like the stupidity of the random spell that Crowley always knows but that's how the season has been, stupid, not saying its anything new to the genre or supernatural but usually takes a little more depth than that. Now personally i love Crowley, love him, but he's deadweight for the show, nowhere to take the character so i am ok with him dying, from a story point of view his death even did mean something atleast but it's a bit annoying to me how forced it feels. It felt like a way to give him a redemption arc while getting rid of him. As for Cas i know he comes back but honestly he's deadweight too for the plot but still he's fun sometimes and i really at this point can't imagine the show without him looming around. Rowena's dead too but i think she comes back... And Kelly is dead... Whatever. And Mary... Whatever.

S12 review... Ugh 5/10 Jeez where do i start. Look i love this show, i appreciate the effort, i understand its been 13 years and it will never be S1-5, i understand the tone changing too by season... Like i can get behind most of it instead of whining like some about how the show should have ended in S5 but here i am about to whine about this season, the season not only had terrible plot it barely had anything redeemable about it. Worse it effected the previous seasons. Pretty much every episode had something awful about it in terms of either ignoring a power Castiel can do, making stuff up to advance the plot that didn't happen in earlier seasons, giving us multiple Cain 2.0s, the long and boring back and forth of Lucifer, plain stupidity.

1. Tone- the showrunner changed which is why i suppose there was a shift in tone but also due to the plot i suppose. More action heavy, less serious, less dark, a lot of drama, comedy was there but just one crazy or comedic episode. Also i felt Sam had more of a presence, it still fixated more on Dean but seemed like Sam's past and badassery was getting attention. Something the Carver era really ignored. I get Dean had storylines for most of S8-11 but that didn't mean Sam could not be doing somw of the badassness. My problem was that his character was so boring during that time. At this point take it for what it is, it will never be dark as S1-7 were at this point its become more of a comedy action mystery soap drama procedural with bad plot. The situation of this season feels a bit like S6 to me. After S1-5 people were really after S6 calling it horrible because they felt that the show should have ended at S5, i really like S6 especially because it does the tone absolute justice. So maybe my problem here is also similar, maybe i am just struggling to care and see the point of the existence of this season when S11 could have wrapped the show beautifully, not that i loved S11 but it actually managed to be a decent end if they killed Lucifer, fit Crowley's offer in the end of S12 and made it happen, connected Eileen and Sam so he could finally have some happiness and didn't do the Mary thing or bmol. All i could think was why is anything happening and why don't i care... The shift in tone was also pretty drastic, it did not feel like the same show. Also the fact that the conflict of monsters felt similar, the monster torture, the working for someone who wants monsters but are corrupt.

2. Plot This season suffered from it not being too personal for Sam and Dean, i know i know Mom comes back and Sam gets tortured from the jump but its still missing that personal feel to it. It wasn't about them per se. It was about the bmol trying to get rid of american hunters and Satan being bored and impregnating someone and Mary coming back. At its plot core we can say this was about sticking to a personal code and respecting individuals, even monsters and it was about forgiveness, understanding and giving space to family. Weak as hell.

3. Plot holes galore Oh jesus 1. Ep2 why does that lady not just blast Cas away? Why does Sam not make sure she is dead? How does one person not beat Dean and Cass? So that Mary could make the kill. 2. Sam's psychicness, this is on the show for reminding me of this mess in ep4, which is a great ep btw. It just makes my head hurt. Why does Sam have no powers? Maybe its being in hell that changed him....What's with the Deal with Mary which was made to give Azazel permission (idek) for her secondborn? Was that an actual thing? Did the mom or dad of the other family make a deal? Did the others? If that wasn't a requirement then how is this on Mary? 3. Ep8- oh really huh the President won't remember being possessed...ofcourse cuz if he does then Dean and Sam don't get taken. S14 we see that's untrue. I could actually buy this because we have never seen an archangel possession besides Sam's where Lucifer actually allowed Sam consciousness. 4. Ep9- This just pissed me off. Show are you telling me that Dean can call for Billy but he can't pray to Castiel. Is this show telling me that Castiel is now unable to hear prayers. Mad. I am mad. 5. Ep 12- really really good ep BUT BUT BUT really Cain 2.0s and multiple at that. Look i bought the whole Cain thing, it was buyable, but this no, and there are multiple? Please this is just nonsense and the two princes we saw weren't in anyway special. 6. Ep21- Lucifer can't see the obvious fact that Crowley isn't dead even though he doesn't light up, Ketch lets them live. Go to unsafe bunker. 7. Ep22- again go to unsafe bunker, lady whatever thinks bmol wants to kill her for no reason when it was clearly only Ketch. 8. The entire Lucifer now having control of Crowley and the security whatever it was so dumb i can't even remember what in the world that was. 9. Bmol's entire motivations 10. Crowley knew where a powerful weapon that could kill Lucifer was and did not even try to make a play for it with the Winchesters when he was so hell bent on killing Lucifer in S11? Also him destroying the weapon to help Cas is doubtful. 11. Lucifer's vessel. The whole Sam being important thing retconned.

4. Crowley Love him but he hasn't been the gold spitting badass he was in a long time. The back and forth with Lucifer just got old. As a character i suppose he had some growth and a bit of a redemption arch. Personally i am ok with that tho i am a but sick of how the bad guys keep turning good like Meg, Metatron, Amara. We saw Crowley lose his son and his mother did it for revenge. We can see how lonely, bored and unfulfilled he feels. He even saves Cass by breaking probably the best weapon they have ever seen, i didn't think it was very in character but i won't believe it is ooc because i can buy that Crowley cares for Cass i suppose. But then when the bmol tells him they'll be going after the Winchesters he does not warn them...So he'll save Cas by forgoing a major weapon but won't warn the brothers? Anyway in the end he kills himself to lock Lucifer because of the spell...ok... I think we can see a build up of him being tired, broken and also he knows he won't survive Lucifer anyway. But the spell thing is so lame, like how could he possibly know and the whole set up just feels forced for us to see him make a sacrifice. I did love how his offer to close hell, i would have loved to see that happen. How do i feel about this... Hmm personally i am burnt out, if this happened last season i might have cared more, but the dragging of the character has left me mostly unaffected and also as much as i love him i have no problem seeing evil characters die. As for how he became king... considering all of Lucifer loyalists were after him why was he going around making representations on behalf of hell

5. Lucifer Dear Lord...the president potrayal was the worst Lucifer ever. The whole rockstar thing was pointless. So he's having an identity crisis and feels abandoned and decides to have a child... Ok i suppose i just don't care for the screen time it got. Then he gets trapped and the whole stretched out back and forth happens. He escapes and i don't care because i he did it last season, because he isn't scary anymore.

Fave ep- lily sunder, american nightmare, regarding dean, stuck in the middle, the raid

Holy hell that was an excruciating bore
larosat-3282120 May 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Took me awhile to finish the episode because it was so mind numbingly dull. Nothing happened except a bunch of meaningless deaths since no doubt, they'll all be revived next season. I really have to wonder hat state of mind would give this tedious, worthless episode a high rating. Must have absolute zero standards. Hilarious beyond belief to see Dean get punched and kicked well over a dozen times and come out totally unfazed. This was schlock at its absolute worst. Hopefully the 13th season will bring about this show's merciful epitaph!!!

An Amazing Season but with a Flaw-Seriously, Mary Winchester !!
durkhomir11 February 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Despite the fact that season 12 was an amazing season, I somehow couldn,t digest the return of mother Mary Winchester. The character itself was not comfortable with this development, i mean comm'on, a few years older mother of her kids!!. This was an awkward situation where Lady Toni Bevel told them that their mother had a wonderful sex with Ketch. Since its first season, Supernatural is a show continue with decency and elegance and there is no place of unnecessary vulgarity in this.

Bringing back Mary Winchester was a blunder which thank God has been compensated in last episode of the season 12.

I am not a "writing reviews" person therefore take this serious when i am telling you all this.

terrible
blackmagpie-623682 June 2018
Warning: Spoilers
The only good thing about this episode is that it marked the end of this horrific season. I am glad castiel is dead although the writers/producers will not have the "balls" to keep him dead, they will revive him like they always do. He brings no value to the show or to the team. He is a weak traitor who has betrayed Dean and humanity more times than I can remember-the brothers killed Madison for less. Dean's reaction is ridiculous and overboard. One minute they all want jack dead the next they do not , make up your minds. Bad writing, even worse directing, this episode offers absolutely nothing. Soppy moping faces all round.

All the dead weight gone
expendable_gods18 March 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I should have known better. All the dead weight (Cas, Mary, Chuck, Amara, angels & heaven) gone and it really felt like the good old times. Why did I watch 13? But I still remember how much I liked the early seasons.

Horrible episode
emmfrizzi14 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Like I said in my headliner, it's a completely and utterly horrible episode. Full of meaningless actions, terrible writing and completely unnecessary scenes just to fill the plot.

Too bad because they could have made a truly nice season finale with all those deaths and all that emotion, but they forced it too much, it's like they didn't event put a little effort into thinking a good way of developing the plot. Of course it has the terrible food print of the worst writer of all times: Andrew Dabb.

First of all, we didn't felt bad for Rowena cause we all knew she would be back.

Death has become meaningless in this series.

The only thing mildly relevant was the introduction to the multiverse, which of course they ruined later.

Second, they completely reduced Crowley's character to a dull slave. It's like they wanted people to stop respecting him. That's one of the many reasons Mark Sheppard left in bad terms.

They killed him in a completely ridiculous and meaningless way.

Not having enough with that, They stopped him from saying a really bad ass line before his death.

Originally he was going to say: "Even when I Lose, I win" and instead they forced him to say "You're right".

Talk about lame decisions.

Third, they lured Lucifer into the other world, which I find hard to believe because no matter how much curiosity he could have had, his priority was to get to his son, so the real thing that on any plane would have happened, is that he would have gone after his son, and maybe later pursue the winchesters wherever they went.

Not to mention that he took a big risk entering to a rift cause it was obvious he was being lured, possibly to close it with him inside.

Going back to Crowley, writers made him kill himself allegedly to close the rift, which didn't even close instantly, and of course, completely unnecessary, castiel goes inside the rift to attack Lucifer with his angel blade. They also made him look pathetic, he wants to solve everything with his blade even though he knows there are a lot of things invulnerable to his pitch fork.

Anyways, as I was saying, it was completely unnecessary that he entered the rift, and even after entering, he could have listened to the boys that the rift was about to close, and go back out with them again.

But of course, they needed him inside, no matter how bad the writing was, so they made him attack Lucifer, and after that, go back out the rift, and ridiculously staying right next to it where he was easy to stab.

Talk about lame writing again.

And yes, Lucifer back out again, the rift still open.

Enter Mary Winchester which starts punching Lucifer all the way until he falls into the rift again, but she does too. Another lame scene.

And just after that, the rift decides to close.

What a casualty.

The cherry to the pie is that in the ending they made jack glance an evil look at Sam, just to create hype and expectation, when in reality jack wasn't Evil and in next season premiere he didn't stared at Sam that way.

Another phony strategy.

One of the worst episodes I've seen, and too bad, cause I repeat, they could have played better with all those deaths.

All they needed was good writing.

But, with Andre Dabb, that's impossible.

It's over

Warning: Spoilers
I will never, ever, EVER forgive you this! If what happened is true, if some miracle did not revive Castiel, I will find you and personally kick your sorry ass! You don't kill your main character! You don't kill king of Hell, you don't kill all of your great characters that are the essence of the show! You don't kill someone million people all over the world are loving so much as they really exist! Castiel was a family, a friend, an angel, god damn it! An angel! Angels watch over you and he was watching over Sam and Dean for all those years! He sacrificed himself not once or twice, he gave his grace for them! His wings! He was a brother and it's the same as you killed one of them. And Crowley... I loved him, he was such a great guy... You have no idea what you have done! From this moment Supernatural ceased to exist.
