Sophia Loren: Live from the TCM Classic Film Festival (2016)

Filmmaker Edoardo Ponti interviews his mother, screen legend Sophia Loren for the latest entry in the TCM Classic Film Festival series. At one point in the show Ponti calls off a list of legends that Loren worked with in her career and it's rather amazing to think how many there were. With that being said, it's also a reason why the interview comes across somewhat disappointing.
Obviously getting to hear from a legend like Loren is a great thing but with such a short running time so much of it is devoted to her personal life. We hear a lot about her mother, her father and her pre-fame days. The movie business starts at over the half-way point and then we just hear a few stories about Cary Grant, her funniest co-star and her Oscar win. It's really too bad that more attention wasn't paid to the various legends that she worked with as I'm sure film buffs would love to hear about what her memories were working with the likes of Brando, Chaplin, Newman, Heston and countless others.
