Ron Simon on Reginald Rose (2011)
*** 1/2 (out of 4)
Ron Simon gets his second featurette on The Criterion Collection's release of 12 ANGRY MEN. This time out he's discussing the work of Reginald Rose and in particular his script for Tragedy in a a Temporary Town, which was directed by Sidney Lumet. Once again Simon really knows his stuff as he gives us all sorts of great bits of information on Rose as well as the actual film in question. The film was made for Studio One so Simon explains how it challenged what was typically seen on television at the time and also discusses what parts of the story had to be changed in order for it to make it to television. If you're a fan of Studio One or just old time television then this here is certainly a must see as you'll walk away with some great information on the subject.
