And In the midst of everything else, Sheligh and Patrick find out that they don't have tell their children of their impending arrival after all.—@AnaDarling
- Whilst the unpopular Sister Ursula continues to impose her austerity measures Patsy is disturbed by a letter from her dying, estranged father in Hong Kong and, like Dr Turner, concerned for first time parents Penny and Derek Reed, born with dwarfism. Their fears are unfounded when Penny produces a healthy daughter but Patsy, having defied Sister Ursula, leaves for Hong Kong. Both Phyllis and Sister Monica Joan are aware of Patsy's relationship with Delia, whom they try to comfort. Shelagh is inoculating dock workers when an explosion occurs at a warehouse, blinding young father George Marsh and the nurses defy Sister Ursula's dictum that they should only provide medical help by supporting the family. Disgusted by the absence of safety precautions at the docks Shelagh and barmaid Valerie, an ex-army nurse who helped Shelagh tend the wounded give evidence at the coroner's court which will lead to improving conditions.—don @ minifie-1
