So, here ends the sixth series of this show, and what an uneven series it has been. It's gone from sublime to ridiculous at times, with the over long and weak 2016 Christmas special.
This episode is more of the show at its best, despite being focused on the character of Barbara, who seems to flit between being whiter than white one minute, and then ballsy the next.
It's all very sweet by the end, with plots from across the series tied up,returning characters, and a not so subtle set up for the next Christmas special.
I know it won't happen but I do feel the BBC should leave this show alone now. It's run its course.
