The character of Pavel (Pasha) Morozov shares a name with a Soviet teenager from the 1930s. According to Soviet legend, when Morozov was thirteen he reported his father to the authorities for stealing from his "Kolhoz" (A socialistic producing structure back in USSR). The father was executed and his relatives took revenge on Pavel by murdering him. Pavel Morozov was turned into a role model for children in the Soviet Union, teaching them to honor the state above their families.
There is an unexplained change to the exterior of the Jennings' house in Season 5. In the first four Seasons, the house was shown with three garage doors: one on the left (which they always used) and two on the right. In Season five, the two garage doors on the right have been replaced by windows.
The title of this episode shares the same name with Julianne Moore's character in Boogie Nights. Both the episode title and the character's name are references to the same thing: lyrics from the patriotic anthem "America the Beautiful" by Katharine Lee Bates ("O beautiful for spacious skies, / For amber waves of grain...")
