So close but misses the target
Snootz7 June 2020
When one watches a movie with this title, it goes without saying that getting upset at concepts and presentation of religion and faith would be pretty stupid. It would be equally foolish to expect the movie to follow one's personal beliefs. So there are two bits of poor-review nonsense hopefully set out of the way, and we can get to the movie itself.

This starts out excellent: interesting premise, good acting, good characters. Both lead actors really do an excellent job in their roles and up until about halfway through the first of three "interviews", it holds up. But that's when the foundation starts crumbling and a movie that had great potential begins stumbling along.

It's not that the story line isn't interesting. There's a plot twist that is very well done and really adds to the story. It's too bad that degree of ingenuity didn't continue throughout the film.

One hopes that a presentation like this would present a bit of wisdom, wit and at least enough philosophy to make one think on important subjects. The problem is this film skirts around the important subjects with trite and incomplete answers. Parts of the movie were absurdist from a faith standpoint. Fortunately there weren't many such issues. Just the opposite in fact, as the writers and director seemed almost afraid to tackle the tough questions . They asked them... but repeatedly failed to provide any semblance of an answer.

About halfway through the film I got so fed up with "God" answering questions with a question that I wanted to strangle the writers, and some might consider it justifiable homicide.

In the end the story line fizzled out, we were (predictably) left with more questions than answers, and the theme of the show seemed to slowly teeter and face-plop. At the beginning I had high hopes, but by the end all such hope had been abandoned and we were left with the reality that this was simply another pretentious, goes-nowhere-really thud film. I wish that were not the case; would that the story had lived up to the actors potential and the message have worked-- or more accurately, that there had been a message. That's not something I can discuss without spoilers, so I'll just say that this film falls considerably short of it's potential... and that we've seen better such films. Several better such films.

This movie is exactly what it presented itself to be... and sadly not much more to challenge one's thinking beyond that. But to the actors: good job, really. Wish they'd have had better material to work from... and a far better purpose to the film.

More could have been reached with the concept of this conversation
paulijcalderon27 October 2018
People are going around saying that Morgan Freeman should have played God here, but David Strathairn does a pretty good job. I was impressed by the acting from both of the two leads. Brenton Thwaites clears his name a little performance wise and shows that he's capable of more than what he's been offered in the past. It's a straightforward setup, a guy is gonna interview a man who tells him that he's God. From there on it starts out interesting. There's clever dialogue thrown back and forth. And yes, my attention very clearly on every word said. But as soon as we move away from the interview aspect the story crumbles. It's never as interesting as those interview parts. I know there's effort there, but its approach to tell the mundane story didn't latch on to me.

Lookswise it's nothing that stands out. Simple framing and narrative. But honestly they didn't need to push the execution. The simplicity is good enough when watching two characters have interesting things to say. Speaking of that, the film definitely should have put more focus on the actual conversations. Because that's what held my attention. The stuff that happens in between went with the convoluted "we gotta have these curveballs of drama and mishy-mashy, sugar-coat, sweet turning points". Jeez, it's ok movie. The conversation of what a man and a God can have about life (and whatever else) is your great subject. Use it wisely. To be fair, the Journalists story that you follow isn't bad per say. I's uneventful compared to what this movie could have reached. The third act almost fell apart, which made it end on a very safe note.

So it's an OK little movie. The conversation scenes and performances were good. The rest is merely your usual soap opera. Last thing to say is that it's not that long and decently easy to watch.

Not quite. Missed opportunity.
danielendy2 September 2018
I love spiritual themes. This movie missed the mark, in my opinion. It's got so much potential, but it's squandered. I loved The Shack which wasn't perfect either but it came much closer than this movie.

"Interview" asks great questions but doesn't deliver any satisfying answers. I know it's good to leave things unsaid and it's not good to spell everything out for the audience, but they leave way too much unsaid - so much that this ends up being a nothingburger.

Oh, God! Was 10x better. Evan Almighty! Was great. Bruce Almighty! Was great. And many others do a much better job. This just raises questions. It baffles me how screenwriters can get away with such a big miss. There is so much good info available on how to write a great screenplay!

Every movie can be boiled down to the "author's message." The message here is that "god is good and mysterious." Gee, thanks.

It's not clear if the author has an opinion and is simply unwilling to share it or if they only have faith and questions.

Decent film
nezbitkn214 March 2019
Warning: Spoilers
This film is a really decent watch if you can steer away from all of this religion bashing in other reviews. I'm not religious but was intrigued by the film and felt content come the end.

To cut 90 minutes into a couple, the main actor is flying home from war and focusses on his dead compatriots' coffins. He returns home to a wife that's been cheating on him and feels there is nowhere left to turn. In his desperation he creates his own world where he believes he is speaking with God about 'things' but is merely speaking to himself and answering his own questions once he can overcome the heartache of doing so. Meeting in the park where elderly patients played chess, his mums old theatre and a closed off storage room in a 'hospital' although this was a run down dump which was no longer in use - likely to be somewhere he had to attend after war for sessions, hence the chairs and tables, this whole film is clearly all about him and his mental state.

'God' constantly tells him that it is all about him and that he needs to face whole truths basically, which like most of us, struggles to do. Eventually when he realises that he was about to end his own life, he decides to make a new go and effort at his life and his marriage, meets 'God' again and realises the answers he has been searching for.

His 'friend' on the phone - is him. He's speaking to himself. He knows who the figure is that he is seeing in his interviews - he's reported on his death. Everything is completely manifested from past experiences in his troubled mind until he finds solace at the end.

Good film. People with a lack of film knowledge will, as they already have, ridicule this film, expecting alternative answers blah blah blah.

Just enjoy the ride and enjoy a well written film of a struggling man searching for happiness.

Falls short
ericdhall7716 March 2019
This movie had the potential to be really good. Good acting, good storyline but fell off dramatically as you see it continually go no where. There's never really a reason given for the "interview". The back story is extremely limited. It was more of God intervening than an interview. Though I typically give religious movies the benefit of doubt, I just can't help but doubt who wrote this.

A Film for the gullible, the naive and the foolish.
notom-230128 December 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Before I write about the 'Interview' I'll write about the film: The acting was... average at best on most counts - with a dismal for 'Yael Grobglas.'

The opening scene was moving... The second scene however... the over-emotional over-acting by Yael Grobglas got me immediately annoyed. Of course, there was no context for her behaviour until later in the film, but still...

David Strathairn as 'God' - well, he's a talented actor. But, I'm afraid, he does not have the depth to pull this role off.

Brenton Thwaites - more of a non-entity character I cannot imagine. Despite this actor having some serious credits to his name during his career, this film shows absolutely NONE of his talent.

The Interview: What questions would you ask HIM? (For the male-centric view of the film I'll adopt this gender...) For openers, HE says (in the film), "I'm a deity, not a vampire" - this implies that there's more than one deity - and the possibility that vampires exist, too. Explain, please.

or.... I was here, where were you?

Why does everybody 'Thank You' for the good things that happen - and yet few curse you for the bad?

Four - score years and Ten - the life span of the average human (60-70 years) - If fed, clothed and with a decent diet and medical aid. Why? 'Bit rushed on the sixth day?' to blame for the shoddy workmanship?

If you did create us, why lay down millions of years of evolutionary misdirection?

Why, in the first part of the 'Bible', did you act like a petulant child? You made your way into everyone's lives - appeared numerous times and then... slowly faded into the background? Did you realise you had some growing up to do, too?

From the film: 'Where do you come from?' It's a valid question, and if 'Paul' does know the answer - or in fact anyone does - feel free to enlighten me... and billions of others.

From the Film: "You know all the answers to all the questions?" That by itself negates 'Free Will', because, for 'Free Will' to exist, there can BE no 'Plan.' Knowledge of intent, action & consequence implies a bounded track to which people are stuck and from which they cannot deviate - thus, no matter the choice you 'think' you make - it was always going to be that choice. A predictable future refutes 'Free Will.'

From the Film: 'What is the meaning of Life?' "To Live, To Struggle, To Serve God and to ask questions like 'What is the meaning of Life?'" Struggle? Why? Serve God, Why? - Service implies dependence - mutual dependence. We know what we'd get out of it (continued existence) - but what about God? What's HE gaining?

...and it goes on and on and on... the movie is diabolically (pun intended) bad.

AVOID!

The good parts were great!
AimiliaBel16 March 2021
This is a very philosophical movie and i believe anyone with philosophical and theological interests would like it. But the good parts are when the interview takes place, between them the movie becomes a little boring and personally I did not like the protagonist's acting. But the actor who plays God is amazing and his scenes well acted and well written.

This isn't really a movie. It's a religious/philosophical treatise disguised as a movie. The plot is that a religious journalist has an interview with a person claiming to be god. The standard pattern of these things is that the interviewer, who is the stand-in for the audience, at first thinks he's talking to a crazy person but gradually comes to believe he is actually talking to god. The movie hopes the audience will come along for the ride and give the ideas presented the weight thereof.

The fundamental problem with anything like this is that it is so effing arrogant. I mean, could you be more self-indulgent and arrogant than to say you can define the personage and motives of the creator of the universe? Beyond that there is the secondary problem in that the movie is taking a stand of sorts on which religions are correct. If the movies espoused beliefs happen to align with your own you may not see a problem with that, but I don't care for that approach because it reduces god to a kind of supernatural parent confessing to the audience that he has a favorite child. It might feel great to hear "god" say you are his (her/its) favorite, but I have a problem with any idea that sounds like the central thesis of a religious war.

Anyway, I don't want to go into any more detail because this is a really touchy subject for so many people, but I'll just say instead that I don't think this is a very good film; it's preachy, judgmental, and not interactive. You have to sit there and listen to them regurgitate their belief system all over you, something better suited for a sermon at your house of worship then as entertainment.

Don't Miss The Point Of This Movie As Many Others Have.
zhadowlordever10 March 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Interview With God is not the average Spiritual/Christian movie as it does not have many religious fundamental overtones, nor is it Holier-Than-Thou- preachy. The movie establishes that it wants everyone, regardless of believers and/or non-believers, to watch this movie by having the interviewer ask God about Atheist's being moral. God replies that yes, atheist's are moral (good people); never mind the tongue-in-cheek joke God says afterwards as it has no meaning in this movie. The movie deals with waning Faith, loss of Hope, Love is going away, and that Life is not a proving ground for Salvation. From the onset of the movie we overhear the protagonist speaking with a war-buddy (although he was a reporter in a war zone) and it is said the buddy was crying and called seeking leads to professional help for possible PTSD. The protagonist is also depressed to the point his mind is mostly dwelling on his marital problems which leads him to be careless while riding his bicycle in a large metropolitan area; near misses with cars ensue but he does not notice. The wife is also depressed as she has had an affair and does not see how she could ever be forgiven for her transgression to her husband. Protagonists boss at work admits when his own marriage failed he got real low and sought professional help. What comes from the conversations with God is that this movie is about loss of Hope and suicide. God intervenes in his life because he cried out for help. His Faith was shot, Love was going, and Hope was waiting to take the midnight bus out of there too. Oh, and protagonist was suicidal but didn't realize it. What the movie tries to instill, by story line and conversation with God is that there is always Hope, Forgiveness, Friendship, Love, and that it is never too late.

The movie is actually quite brilliant in its delivery. The conversations with God are humorous and poignant. But, if you are looking for a deep theological movie and the answer to life, the universe, and everything...that pretentiousness is not here.

"...everyone has their own journey, but there is only one truth."
classicsoncall13 January 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I thought there was potential here but all throughout I found it somewhat underwhelming. Paul Asher (Brenton Thwaites) questions his faith upon return home from a journalistic assignment in Afghanistan, at which time he recognizes that his marriage is falling apart. We're led to believe that the distance between him and his wife (Yael Grobglas) is due to his prolonged absence from home, compounded by the dedication and hours he devotes to his newspaper. That's true up to a point, but in a minor twist to the story, it's learned that his wife was unfaithful to him during his absence, and now faces her own crisis of conscience, believing she's not worthy to seek his forgiveness.

It wasn't really clear to me how Paul landed his gig interviewing God (David Strathairn), nor is it apparent how he became aware of each interview location on three successive days. They just sort of occurred at the proper time and place by...divine intervention? Much of the back and forth between Paul and God was of the standard variety, such as God knowing everything and human beings needing to find their own path to salvation. Sort of prosaic for the most part, though the topic of free will was broached when it came to why evil exists in the world and why bad things happen to good people. Therein lies most of the answer when it comes to the world's big problems.

As God, David Strathairn probably could have been more accessible had he indulged in a bit of humor. In that regard, my favorite film depiction of God would have been George Burns in the 1977 comedy "Oh, God". Very cordial and conversational, he was able to make his spiritual pitch in a manner that wasn't threatening and was even quite inspirational and uplifting. Mirroring Strathairn's intent as God, Burns came across much more friendly and informal, and who could object to God's declaration in that picture when he said - "I gave you a world and everything in it. It's all up to you".

Lame...
mvike14 March 2019
Warning: Spoilers
What did I hope for? I hoped that at least we would get some interesting answers to the questions asked, instead, when asked things such as "what is the meaning of life" we get crap like "to serve God and ask what the meaning of life is" or when he asks, "where do you come from?" We get no answer at all...most all of the interesting questions are answered with QUESTIONS, or vague, cliche bible quotes!!!! What's the purpose of even making the movie if they're going to do that....?

At least the film, THE MAN FROM EARTH, gave us really cool, original, unique answers to questions! It made us go "whaaaat that's wild!" This film did NOTHING to make me think deeper about these questions... all we got was religious mumbo jumbo.

"Satan is real?" A. "Yes but he's overrated"....really...? That's all you have to say about this ...?

"What happens when we die?" A. "Reunited with God"...I MEAN COME ON!!!!!! I could've just gotten these answers from my Grandmother.

Total wasted great idea, instead chose to be a Kirk Cameron special.

Biblically accurate and applicable
strivingprov3112 March 2019
So, i didn't know exactly what i was getting into when i hit play on this movie...i usually get angry with films that claim to be Christian or Biblical films but end up way off on the Biblical truths, accounts and doctrines... or i get offended at films making fun of Jesus Christ or God in general (examples: Bruce Almighty, Evan Almighty, and Noah starring Russell Crowe was just a flat out insult!)

However, in this particular film i was sucked in to the story (it's very applicable to issues of today-suicide, affair, marriage, depression, guilt, seeking a sense of purpose, love, kindness, helping others, etc.) and i was intrigued by God's answers to the interview questions!

I do not have a degree in theology, however, i have grown up in a Christian home and church (I've been a Christian for 35 years) and i know the stories of the Bible quite well and i would even say my hobby is studying the scriptures. I listen to preaching in my spare time and love taking college classes on anything in relation to the Bible.

All this to say that in this film, God did indeed answer all the interview questions (some reviews claim that God just left the guy hanging...obviously they were not paying close attention to the conversations) , and every answer God gave was accurate to the King James Bible and what the Bible teaches/informs us about: 1. Who God is. 2. What His characteristics are. 3. What His nature is. 4. Why He created us. 5. What our purpose is. 6. Why God cares or loves us. 7. What God desires from us. 8. Why God gave mankind free will. 9. Why bad things happen to good people. And the list can go on and on...

There is very little mention of Jesus and His sacrifice for mankind in this movie (which is crucial for salvation), however, i believe the purpose of this movie is to:

(1) wet the appetite of those who are seeking to know who God is and whether He exists or not.

(2) remind/inform believers that while faith (in Christ's sacrifice for our sins) does indeed give us salvation (eternity with the Almighty), faith isn't the only thing that God had intended for us, God loves us and desires to have a personal relationship with every single soul to ever exist!

Why else would He send Christ to die for us? To save us by the skin of our teeth? No! God used Christ to build a bridge over the gap of sin so that we could walk with Him and talk with Him just like He intended at the very beginning when He first created man in the garden of Eden!

This film portrays a beautiful picture of how God moves and interacts in the lives of people today! Does God give literal interviews? Most would say no...but in truth, He answered all the questions before they were asked...His answers are in the scriptures...just because you don't see the answers immediately doesn't mean they aren't there.

Better than it should be. (non-Christian opinion)
davidwaxx1 December 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I'm an atheist, but I didn't view this film as someone trying to argue me into a religion I don't like. Instead it's about a character learning something about his choices, others choices, and their role in the world. It reminded me a lot of In Bruges. Decent acting from a likable cast. The protagonist seems very young, I think they could have put some effort into making him look less like a high school leaver.

I don't know why people are complaining about the writing of this story, because frankly Hollywood should be ashamed that a christian film deals with theme better than the majority of them. (that being said, there were a few moments where things were said that were already implied, and where the conversation with god went in circles)

There was a major missed opportunity, throughout the film we're lead to believe that the main character had cheated on his wife, and that he couldn't forgive himself for that. Midway through it's revealed that she'd cheated on him, and he'd been wrongfully blaming himself. Considering it's theme, and especially considering it's message in a religious context,it would have been better for him to have cheated. But I guess a Christian film wouldn't want to even think about touching Transgressive fiction with a ten foot pole.

Colossal Waste of an Opportunity... Waste of Time for Intelligent Christians
TinPilot-141849 April 2019
If you think you will get ANY satisfying answers, you are sadly mistaken. In this attempt to portray the Christian view, the writers failed on every level. God and the interviewer Paul cannot connect verbally. The chopped dialogue is irritating. Their goals are incompatible and we suffer through the process. Attempts at humour (..at one moment, God does a pathetic impression of a Jewish rabbi to try to make a point.. ) miss the mark EVERY time. The whole film is aimed at sub-intellectual minds with no capacity for critical thinking. If you have any curiosity to know more about the mysteries of Christianity, you will feel cheated and even insulted. It's not as if some great questions are not mentioned...they are, but in EVERY case, the answer is sidestepped with vague terminology or a non-sequitur. Incredibly, the interviewer never references ANY of the widely disputed basic biblical discrepancies such as how God made light on the 1st day, but God didn't make the sun until the 4th day (Genesis). Might have been interesting to hear the creative explanation from the creator himself. But no. So what does God want to talk about? Not much actually. Apparently God's main mission in this set of interviews is to counsel Paul the interviewer, with cryptic responses to any deeper questions. Could this merely be a version of Psalm 32:8 put on film? Nah, don't think so. It's just a light weight film with no redeeming qualities. Avoid.

Poor writing and vision.
jacobnagle3 November 2018
Warning: Spoilers
The actors are great, but thats about all that is. Not only is the writing extremely poor and repetative, its whole concept says that even someone who spent their whole life as a believer takes actually being given proof... to actually believe... and he whole time before he didn't actually believe.... What angle are you trying to work... Just mind blowing how stupid it is.

A Questioning Interview...?
Magnolia_Green2 April 2019
A confusing tale of lost hope, fear and missing out in what's right in front of you. I loved the idea. The premise. But the movie was poorly executed. A young man, husband, and veteran (I believe...it's unclear) returns home and his wife leaves him. At the same time, he is granted an interview with God. Three days at three separate locations. I take it the constant use of three speaks to the Holy Trinity (the Father, Son and Holy Ghost). While this interview is to prove that the guy is who he says he is, it shifts to being about the interviewers faith and the current path he is on. The question the movie asks is: can you really say you have faith if you don't believe. I love that. Again....you don't get that until the last 17 seconds of the film, which is a shame! But still a good message. I had to rewind a few times to get what was happening. Or what was said...and in many cases, not said. A LOT wasn't said but poorly eluded to, leaving you to question if it's what you think it is. The movie doesn't explain the "it". And "it" isn't what you think it is. So, you are left scratching your head. Like, what did I just watch. As a Christian, I watch these movies to see my experiences of faith played out in a general sense, concluding with a wrap up on how to get threw. This isn't that movie! I'll end with this. You cannot expect a one hour and 37 minutes movie of perpetual questions of faith and God to make sense in the last three minutes.

Reason and logic abandoned for a no plot movie.
aussjlink-4505224 October 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Did the writers get challenged to see how many falacies they could fit into an hour and half? Holy crap this movie is garbage. I watched it because I was hoping for some good philosophical discussion, instead we get special pleading, arguments from ignorance, calling a clear display of manipulation "motivation" instead as if that somehow makes it motivation just by calling it so, and that's just the tip of the iceberg. There's so much wrong about this movie. And if you want to watch the movie strictly for plot's sake, basically ignore all the shit discussions about god, then it's just a story about a guy who's suicidal because his chick cheated on him and wanted to leave... How original... Garbage movie.

One of the best movies I've seen in years
jeffmusicexchange12 March 2019
I have never seen so many terrible reviews as there is for this film. What were you people watching? What did you expect when viewing this film? My wife and I watched this two nights ago and were totally engrossed for the whole film. We wanted more. I don't know the ages of the reviewers but they must only be used to comic pictures with action, action, action. None of that here. Or a false portrayal of the Christian life. This was so well done. Some reviewers said it was so badly written and it didn't answer anything about the Bible or God. God answered almost everything right FROM the Bible, the greatest book ever written. We didn't know anything about this film but we were going through a list at Netflix. We had about 1 1/2 hours to burn so we chose this film which ran 96 minutes. David Straitharn who plays God is so unique, gentle, truthful, honest just like you'd expect God to be in human form. He wasn't silly like George Burns or Morgan Freeman. Although he did have a sense of humor which was very welcomed. Please ignore most of the athiestic and agnostic reviewers. This was one very good film.

Terrific concept, mediocre delivery
Robert_duder1 May 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I thought this film sounded fascinating in it's write up on Netflix and I wasn't wrong. The idea behind the film is terrific and this would even make a great stage play but the problem lies in the script. It tells this story, builds these characters and then doesn't have any place to go with them. Another reviewer said it perfectly when they said it asks a lot of questions and gives no answers to any of it. And instead in the end it "chickens" out and wraps everything up in a neat little bow which makes no sense for the story before it. The cast is very good. I can't think of a better person to represent God on screen than David Strathairn who has a certain royal quality to him. Brenton Thwaites is very good as the pushed to the edge reporter who agrees to meet with the man claiming to be God. There is very little explanation as to what brings them together (which is the point as we find out) and God offers him all these questions and redemption and salvation and then when you feel like you're just about to uncover the landmine of answers and have your mind blown ... nothing. He realizes life ain't so bad and everything falls into place. I don't know if this is a book or not but I see some incredible potential here that is just never ever fleshed out. Still it's a good faith based film that's easy to watch and entertaining and well acted. 7/10

What was the point in making this film
miki-watt723 November 2018
Such a shame that this film amounts to nothing really, it could have had so many different meanings. Again a shame that there were quite a few good actors in this and to think they've fed the script and took this, not doing any of their careers good from this.

I can see just because this movie is about God people tearing it down, typical atheist/ anti God comments. If you're whole core is against God and religion, don't watch this movie, it's realllllllyyy simple.

Beautiful movie, really amazing concept. If you want a movie to uplift your spirits then give this one a shot.

Interesting angle
robynsegg312 May 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Definitely Judeo-Christian centric (completely ignores all other faiths), but it brings up several interesting questions that occur to many people of faith.

Questions like 'Do you exist?' and 'How can you prove it?' are peppered throughout, though some questions are just ignored and 'God' does seem to lie in at least one area (The direct insinuation that he is going to die very very soon - though maybe the insinuation was that he would have died that day without His direct intervention on that day?)

Although I personnally tend to disbelieve in organized religion for the sake of religion, but I am spiritual and found this brought up some interesting theological arguments, whether or not you agreed with the movie's answers. Not a total waste of time, I thought.

Terrible and Ignorant Claptrap
jmbwithcats23 June 2019
Warning: Spoilers
It begins with an agreement that God knows all the questions and answers, but then 4 minutes in, the journalist asks God, "You're waiting for me to ask" and God asks the journalist, "Ask what?" but wait, I thought he had all the questions and answers mankind would ever ask... he knows all, ergo, this movie destroys itself just 5 minutes into it, tripping itself up entirely as it becomes clear God didn't know what he was asking...

Not a very intelligent script so far...

I'll give it 2 more chances.

Oof, fall #2, journalist asks God, what is the meaning of life? To which God responds, to live, to struggle, to serve God. I'm sorry but that is a terrible answer. The meaning of life is to live, wrong, that is an action that happens without meaning, also struggling is not a meaning but a part of educating the mind, to serve God... implies a separation, again... wrong wrong wrong, all 3 answers God gives here are just bad.

Okay last chance... and we're only 16 minutes in...

Now they just said Atheists can be moral but build their houses on no foundation... which is just pure judgment and ignorance.

I'm done, this movie is no good.

Great Idea, Executed Poorly
m19655 August 2022
I love the "idea" of this film, just not how it was executed, written.

Why can't an idea like this be a film without having the luggage of modern religions weighing it down?

Why do so many people still believe in God through words written by HUMANS centuries ago?

I hope this idea is made into a film again someday, but from the eyes/heart of a person who knows God spiritually, but has no affiliation with religion.

It could be great.
