The bar featured in the film 'Devils Advocate' is an actual micro-pub in Middlesbrough, close to Teesside University.
The scene which shows a wide shot of the bar, showing Owen (Jamie Brown) on both sides of the bar, with his mother (Lynne Lawson) sitting to the left of screen, was actually three split images edited as one.
This is the second film that reunites Jamie Brown, Matthew Bland and Gemma-Louise Norman. Jamie and Matthew acted opposite each other in the short film 'Jeremy' (2015), which Gemma also produced.
During filming, the director (Danny Cause) invited the editor (Matthew Bland) to the set for his creative input on the film. As this film was produced for a final project towards Danny's University degree, actress Sophie Ross-Taylor (Becky) mistook Matthew for a University lecturer, who she thought was overseeing filming. This became an on-going joke between cast and crew throughout production.
