Filming took 4 weeks.
The end credits (when it's showing the whole movie in reverse) is actually the original cut that was presented in Dylan's Film Appreciation class.
2 years ago this was an idea that Dylan C. Bargas (Director, "Mentos Friend") and Shane Meyers (Producer, "The Mentos Man") ever since they watched some YouTube video parodies of MENTOS, and the actual commercials for the product. The original concept was about a commercial parody of Shane being chased by Mentos obsessed fans through hallways of the college they go to. That actually became one of the scenes in the finished film.
When it came around to actually making this movie a reality, it wouldn't be possible if Dylan's Film Appreciation class didn't inspire him to get it off the ground. There was a completely different project Dylan wanted to approach as a short film, and it has to do with suicide-awareness. But after having scheduling conflicts, and not enough motivation from the rest of the crew, Dylan ended up making a movie about how a TV commercial can take over someone's life, and that became "The Life of Mentos Man".
If the reoccurring commercialized scenes annoy you, that's the point. Director Dylan C. Bargas wanted to make sure these scenes have the same feeling you get when you watch actual commercials that have catchy songs, and annoying overtime when you keep seeing them constantly (such as the Mentos commercials).
