One of the best Arabic dramas ever made
doctor-basmazewar5 July 2016
Warning: Spoilers
Perfectly written series. Yehia El Fakharany is one of the most acclaimed Egyptian actors ever, and this series was nothing short of spectacular. It might seem as a simple battle between good and evil, but i assure you there is nothing simple about this series. Seldom does Egyptian drama explore the human psyche of the characters involved. Wannous explores something that is surpasses human weakness and inclinations, he digs deep into the fragility of our souls, our doubts, vanity, darkness and ultimately, even beauty and vulnerability. It is the first Egyptian series that has ever tackled this subject, which makes it a little more predictable and redundant for a fan of American drama but it doesn't take away anything from how well this series was made. The series does not have a preaching tone, which is expected in the Arabic culture, but rather a narrating neutral method of story telling that is actually very rare?in Arabic drama. It is indeed an unforgettable series. Long live Fakharany !

One of Egypt's best dramas in acting skills , screenplay and story despite the average direction and picture

Wannous is no doubt one of Dr. Yehia El-Fakharany's top acting performances and as a series too. The reflection of the devil and the idea is very fresh but the whole story in some scenes was infected with boredom and the direction was an average one and could have been way more better than we have seen in both acting as the whole cast did a solid acting and the whole picture. The screenplay was the hero which gave the actors the ability to show off their characters in that way especially dr Yehia , hannan and nabeel. Overall a must watch series that was well made with one of dr Yehia's top performances at all and an average picture and locations.

best of the best among Egyptian drama

No words can describe how incredible was the performance of each and every actor , perfect casting , magnificent screenplay the idea of movies talking about the devil is handled in a very original , new and non cliché way .

And I am surprised that some of the comments describe the direction as average , the direction suits the atmosphere of a story focused on a small group of people like a family and although the locations are limited the director along with the director of photography painted beautiful portraits in many scenes . And finally one of the best scores by the brilliant amin bohafa.

Wasted opportunity

The tv series has an original, interesting, daring and profound story, but the dialogue weakens the script,it's full of exposition,as if the writer was throwing at us informations as fast as possible instead of taking his time. The show has an incredible cast especially the main lead dr.Yehia el fakhrany. The direction, the production design, the cinematography is fair at best.
