McLaren says his next candidate would have been a morbidly obese meat salesman. A while later, Dave passes an obese man in a wheelchair who appears to have just died.
The episode title "Protocol 6" refers to the standing orders Travelers are supposed to memorize and which are supposed to guide their actions in the absence of specific orders to the contrary. Protocol 6 essentially states, "No inter-team/deep web communication except in extreme emergencies or when sanctioned."
There are slight changes to David's apartment between the first and second episodes. In the first episode there is a wall with a bookcase between the kitchen and living area, but in the second episode the bookcase is gone and the wall is only about four feet high, and the kitchen is open to the living room. Also, the wall next to the door where David hangs his bicycle is much shorter, making the living room larger. The giveaway is that in the first episode David's bike fits on the wall with lots of space on either end, but in the second episode the front tire is nearly up against the wall with the door and the back tire sticks out past the corner.
At 31:21 when Philip and Marcy are getting ready to leave, a very large gap is visible under both outside doors. This is a dead giveaway that they are on a set and not a real location.
