For someone who loves fantasy this is an excellent show. The seasons I think are equally matched and the Character development is really good.

And the follow up is great as well.

Warning: Spoilers
This is the unaired pilot episode from Avatar: The Last Airbender, directed by the creators of the series, Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko.

The pilot is fun, fast paced and already showing the great potential of the story, though certain elements from it might come as a bit weird for those used by the different characterization in the actual series.

For starters, Aang is way cockier and more childish here, compared with his much more humble persona in the show. Sokka is also much grumpier and not as likeable as in the series, but these differences are understable as this was an early test of what eventually would become one of the most ambitious series Nickelodeon ever produced.

The mere fact the final product was greenlit and allowed to have a proper conclusion is nothing short of miraculous. (Just see what happened to Constant Payne, another anime-influenced pilot from the early 2000s) Unfortunately, it's extremely unlikely a project like this would be greenlit nowadays by modern Nick, which is more interested in producing endless Spongebob spin-offs.

I had zero interest in the upcoming live-action by Netflix. It just seems as boring as the Shyamalan movie.

I also cannot help but laugh how the pilot basically ends with the prototype Aang apparently falling to his death.

This was a really good pilot. Good at introducing all the characters, the setting and the art style. It definitely doesn't feel any more than pretty good as of now, but I'm looking forward to watching more.

An interesting watch

After watching the whole series, this was an interesting watch. Although everything is a little bit off as this is non-canon, the fight scene on the scaffolding makes this far from the worst episode when it comes to fights. The dialogue is weird and Zuko is actually evil? Likd he is very unlikeable in this episode--more than any episode in the real series. Even so, it's cool to see the origins of the show, and this is by no means bad.
