Hurried & Amateur-ish

This is, so far, a very hurried remake of S03 of the original. After a pretty gripping Season 1, Anil Kapoor and his team disappoint big time.

The story is not cohesive. Apparently, some important plot points are missing and seem to have rushed over. The performance are theatrical, like many of the CID episodes. Anil Kapoor appears tired, vain and looks as if he came to the wrong set. Sakshi Tanwar is badly cast. Maybe she doesn't have the material to put her best act forward.

Anita Raaj looks slim, petite and suitably vampish. Her time may come as we move ahead. Bhoopalam is just adequate. But the big letdown is Sikandar Kher. He either overacts or just cant act. Looks more like a buffoon than a villain. Ashish Vidyarthi is a pale shadow of his former self.

After a pretty crisp hold of the going-ons in the 1st season, director Abhinay Deo falters. And, falters big time.

The filming of the jail scenes is ludicrous. Laughable really.

Amazing isn't it? They had a solid foundation on which they could have worked out a genuinely gripping tale, and yet Anil Kapoor falters big time.

If the next two episodes, i.e. 3 & 4 don't improve, I will junk this.

Know what I think: Anil Kapoor is too busy with his other film commitments and possibly gave a small window to this project; thats why the hurried, amateur look.

Sad really.
