Huh, this is pretty funny. The Mindy Project sounds like a mediocre TV show I just wanted to watch this one time loop episode. But it's very short and the jokes come fast. One thing that surpriced me is how silly Mindy looked yet the jokes are actually funny and direct. Most scenes are short with very direct dialogue an all words having a reason. Maybe even a tad too short, but Mindy doesn't have the skills to carry long dramatic sequences.
I do feel like this would have been better with another actress as this was a romance episode and not fit for Mindy. But the time loop stuff was actually funny with some clear ideas behind it like her explaining it, trying out different stuff, making fun of her being a rebel and learning new things. And then her trying to be cool and later get back with her ex by learning everything about him. For the first 15 minutes it was very funny.
I think everything works besides the actress. She is mad funny, but I didn't really find her charming enough to play a love interest. Rather I see her as someone who has a stable relationship and doesn't want to put it on the line - as most boring regular people. So it's hard to judge. She's funny as heck, but maybe overplays her hand here.
