A cold relationship
zemariat25 December 2018
I really could not develop empathy for those characters. Pepijn (Wieger Windhorst) asks his partner / husband / lover about his profile on Grindr ... does it mean they have an open relationship? They plan a child by a surrogate mother and a round the world trip at the same time, but Sjors (Kevin Hassing) just got a new job, apparently, which indicates that the couple lacked dialogue long before the arrival of Cas (Felix Meyer), which only made the situation worse. A cold relationship, which in my view, that didn't need a third party to end.

Three's a crowd
earl-rose31 January 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Many gay couples experiment with three-somes. My husband and I did when we were just trying out our new relationship. For us, and many others, I hear, these experiments end up poorly. Someone is always left out. There are only so many positions. And, when emotions get hurt, there is no recourse to talk it out with each other. In this film a sort of different outcome emerges. The threesome becomes, actually, three two somes. He and he. Me and he. Me and the other he. The all at once hop in the bed is not the rule but the exception. It is complicated. The film is very well done except that the characters, even the couple, do not seem to be HOT for each other. A matter of casting? Everyone is good looking. The chemistry is luke warm. And so on. I liked the film and am glad that I saw it but I won't be coming back for another look.

Quite shallow and unrealistic
JJ-Chi17 February 2021
An uninteresting, homeless and not-at-all attractive guy comes into the picture and suddenly you have two committed lovers fighting for his attention. REALLY? If you can buy that ...then this movie is for you!

Halfway though the movie I thought "I don't care about any of these people." In the end; we (along with the characters) are left with NOTHING!!

The best thing I can say about this: it wasn't completely awful (aside from the casting).

Devastating

Warning: Spoilers
A romantic movie that deals with "after you fall in love". Pep and his partner come across the fabled 7 year itch. Pep has always wanted to travel the world and Sjors has seen the world as is ready to settle down. Generally though, they work well as a couple and have a solid foundation. Cas is a young wandering soul who finds his way to their couch and then into their lives. Cas' presence sparks tension and desire and ultimately the original couple is forced to question their paths forward. Wieger Windhorst is strong as Pepijn and Kevin Hassing as Sjors is stunning as Sjors. Felix Meyer is good as Cas but his character is not tasked with the heavy lifting of the two leads. As relationships age, less is said and more is assumed or expected. Those assumptions and expectations can become problematic if they are not checked, rechecked, reiterated and confirmed. Pep and Sjors are forced to answered "what do we want?" Writing and direction is strong and leaves the viewer wanting more.
