Disturbing
Hitchcoc28 December 2018
Walt's character has been twisted and turned. His tunnel vision leaves all kinds of victims in its wake. The writers have now portrayed him as one who can only see on thing--the destruction of one man. Perhaps that person deserves to be brought down, but at what cost. He is always talking about "his" county. He has declared himself a sort of monarch. I couldn't stand him in Season 5. Then we have his daughter, who can't see the forest for the trees. Perhaps we are to believe that her trauma is making her ignore the character of someone like Darius, who, along with Malachi, is a snake. Henry meant good, but he had to make everything a show, rather than subtly going about his business. We also have the silly ending with the pregnant Vic, going off to the prison. One season to go. Can it be salvaged.

destruction of this once-great series almost complete

Warning: Spoilers
Bonanza ran 14 years and it was not an especially good show.

This once-amazing show was unfairly canceled, rescued from the dustbin by Netflix, and since then it has been Hell-bent on self-destruction. My guess is that it will get its wish sooner rather than later.

This horrible ending to the worst season of the series pressed all the buttons. The wrong buttons. Somewhere between s01 and s02 we jumped from the Walt Longmire "mysteries" to the Walt Longmire "soap opera." The entire s05 was wretched, jumping back and forth from agony to angst with nary a "mystery" in between.

This episode is the benchmark for a series gone wrong. Jumping from one sorrowful character arc to another, with no payoff or respite. And for anyone who has watched Sons of Anarchy, the finale for this season, the so-called "hook" to bring viewers back kicking and screaming for S06, was borrowed from the SOA playbook, almost chapter and verse.

Ugh.
