If you are a fan of actor and filmmaker Dominic Brunt, you will no doubt be interested in our new interview with him, which has just been uploaded onto YouTube. Brunt has directed numerous horror films, including Attack of the Adult Babies and Wolf Manor. Outside of the horror genre, Brunt has also been playing Paddy Kirk in Emmerdale since 1997, so he is clearly a major celebrity who the British public will be very familiar with.
Brunt regularly attends FrightFest, and he was there this year to promote Broken Bird, which had its world premiere at the event. Written by Brunt and directed by his wife, Joanne Mitchell, Broken Bird tells the story of a mortuary assistant named Sybil (Rebecca Calder), who undergoes a downward spiral into the depths of madness, resulting in her causing harm to those who cross her path.

Seemingly coming out of nowhere, the werewolf horror-thriller Wolf Manor, from actor and director Dominic Brunt has entered post-production. Directed by Brunt, the full-throttle, gore-filled film is the tale of a film crew caught in the claws of a manor house’s resident werewolf, was shot in three weeks in locations in Shropshire.
Shooting a vampire flick in an old, abandoned manor house should have worked like a dream, but the film crew are out of their depth, over schedule and desperate to get the shoot finished and go home. However, as the moon turns full, the nightmare begins. Blood flows and the body count rises as cast & crew meet the manor’s resident werewolf…
Brunt’s UK-produced film, which was written by Pete Wild and Joel Ferrari, stars James Fleet, Jay Taylor, Thaila Zucchi, Rupert Procter and John Henshaw. Wolf Manor’s creature design was created by renowned special make-up effects artist Shaune Harrison.

There’s horror, there’s cult horror and then there’s whatever the hell Attack of the Adult Babies is. Part contemporary Benny Hill sketch, part micro-budget Troma-style slasher, it falls into what is quite possibly the weirdest of cracks in British pop-culture: politically-motivated gross-out comedies filled to the brim with poo jokes directed by Paddy from Emmerdale. Dominic Brunt is actually a fairly accomplished genre director (check out his equally dizzying micro thriller Bait from a few years ago if you don’t believe me), but Adult Babies is something totally, maniacally different in every sense of the word. Not just to Brunt’s own stuff, but pretty much everything else that’s ever seen the light of a projector or TV screen too.
Throw absolutely every last hang-up you might have about unconventional storytelling, scatological humour and hyper-cheap, porno-looking cinematography out the window and you might just have some fun here.

If there’s one thing that Horror teaches us, it’s that Royalty, the Aristocracy, the Captains of Industry, the rich and powerful generally, are not like the rest of us. They are vampires or lizards; they prey on us, or hunt us for sport; they indulge in grotesque, shapeshifting, “shunting” orgies; they go canvasing for Parliament on Scottish Council Estates with their Nannies in tow… They are freaks and perverts, sadists and degenerates. And there is nothing they cannot get away with; or so it seems.
But maybe things are about to change. The horrible freaks are about to get… exposed, once and for all, in Grimmfest 2017‘s closing film, the Northern Premiere of… Attack of the Adult Babies
When two teenagers are forced to break into a remote country manor to steal Top Secret documents, they uncover a sinister world of sexual depravity and monstrous ambition, where powerful...

In the first of his FrightFest interview series, host Stuart Wright talks to actor-turned-director Dominic Brunt about his latest film Attack of the Adult Babies, which has its world premiere at the festival on Saturday 26th August.
From Dominic Brunt, director of Before Dawn and Bait, a satirical and sexy shocker unlike anything you’ve ever seen before. A home invasion forces two teenagers to break into a remote country manor and steal Top Secret documents. Little do they know the stately pile is also the venue where a group of high-powered middle-aged men go to take refuge from the stresses of daily life by dressing in nappies and indulging their every perverse nursery whim. Or that this grotesque assembly intends to refuel the world’s economy by very sinister, sick and monstrous means. Time for a change…
