The creator of the series,
James Keating, met the actor
Paul Walker at the after party of the world premiere of
Fast & Furious 6 (2013) at Somerset House, in London. They spoke in-depth about
Strain Pirates, which dealt with social and political issues that
Paul Walker felt very passionately about.
James Keating was still writing the series at the time, but he and
Paul Walker agreed to stay in touch, in the hopes of collaborating on the project.
Paul Walker tragically died only a few months later and before they had the chance to work together on
Strain Pirates, but the series is dedicated to his memory.
