Good cast!
BandSAboutMovies20 February 2020
Warning: Spoilers
John Thomas (David Chokachi, Baywatch) is faced with his daughter Lisa's (Marialisa Caruso, who contributed writing to the movie) mounting medical bills and issues at home with his wife (Yancy Butler, Witchblade). That leads him to be part of his father-in-law's plan to smuggle jewels across the U.S./Mexico border. Things go wrong and he's left for dead. Can he find his way back to life?

This movie was produced by Anthony Caruso, who also served as the executive story editor. His career started with acting, moved into real estate and then he found his way to reality TV. This is the first film he's produced and this was directed by Eric Etebari, who played Ian Nottingham on Witchblade opposite Butler.

The cast is packed with people you'll recognize. There's Steven Williams, who hunted down Jason in Jason Goes to Hell as Creighton Duke. John Schneider from TV's Dukes of Hazzard. Chris Mulkey, who has been in everything from Whiplash to Cloverfield. And perhaps most exciting for readers of this site, Michael Pare from Streets of Fire and Vernon Wells, who is one of the best movie villains ever.

Really Enjoyed

It is alway a gamble when you rent a film in the indie world, but this one delivered! I enjoyed it! I thought it was well shot, I thought the acting worked for the premise. The lead actor was great and man it really gave some tough questions for us as an audience to answer. The harsh desert really worked for the film and I thought the cinematography captured that. From the opening and the dilemma present to the main character, it draws you right in and makes you question how you might handle the situation. You almost can't help it ! I would definitely recommend this movie if you are looking for a weekend watch!

What an Indie Cast!
talentscout-331928 October 2022
I decided to first what this Indie film, Because I'm a big fan of Michael Pare (Eddie and the Cruisers), John Schnieder (Bo Duke), David Chokachi (who didn't watch Baywatch?) Yancy Butler (drop Zone) and of course Chris Mulkey (Whiplash).

That being said, I had a few friends over that night for a friendly poker night. I can say we stopped playing cards about 20 minutes into the Movie. Now I'm not saying it was an over the top with potential for an Oscar nod. But I can say it kept us engaged throughout the movie.

I also will say they did an excellent job on casting so many known name actors for an Indie film, and it wasn't all shot in one locations, like many Indies do mostly due to budget restrictions (I think someone had deep pockets on this one, just saying). All in all everyone enjoyed the performances and storyline.

Nice family film
ninoumiricano2 October 2022
There was action, adventure, testing faith, bad versus evil. An outstanding cast for a B Movie. Locations used in this movie were over the top from the he High Desert, to Malibu Beach, and Big city of LA. What really struck , me was the way the characters evolved. The main character seemed very selfish towards the beginning, but as the movie progressed he became more caring and responsible towards his family and friend. Some might call this a faith based movie, But what I saw was a man who lost every thing and was left along to face certain death, and I believe any of us at that point would search for help from a higher power. Well Done!!!!!!!!!

A rare family oriented thriller
markzilla-6594325 February 2020
Not sure how many movies most people watch weekly, but being a movie buff throughout my lifetime, I've watched more than most. It was a pleasure seeing Emerald Run at its Premiere in San Jose. There are movies out there that seem to be somewhat repetitive with story lines we've all watched time and again, just with a different cast. Not Emerald Run. Refreshing to watch a captivating cast, a storyline that keeps you guessing till the very end, with stunning, but harsh desert scenery. Welcoming to the big screen, Marialisa Caruso in her very first debut. Best supporting actress at several of the film festivals in Milan and London, Marialisa was also a co- writer with her Father/producer Anthony Caruso. On the edge of my seat to see what this father, and daughter duo will work together on next. Family fun was intended, so take the whole family. Producer Anthony Caruso did.

I've been watching a lot of movies, and this one was so much fun to watch. Interesting story line, and some great cinematography, but what really struck me was the performance of David Chokachy.. He really put he is best perfomance out there sine Witchblade. Hats off David!!!
