- Brody escapes to Earth from an alien spaceship with a special artifact called the Ninja Nexus Prism. Brody and his two new friends must unlock an artifact's secrets to defend it from the villainous champion Galvanax.
- Ten years ago, the Ninja Nexus Prism containing the Ninja Nexus Star fell to Earth, landing in the back yard of Ninja Master Dane and his two pre-adolescent sons, Aiden and Brody. Soon after, evil aliens Galvanax, Ripcon and Madame Odius appeared with aim to take and use the power of the Ninja Nexus Star. Ninja Master Dane defended it, becoming a Power Ranger in the process. In shattering the Star into six pieces, he disappeared with Ninja Steel now protecting the Nexus Prism and its six Stars. Galvanax takes it, along with young Brody. Ten years pass in which Galvanax has been unable to access the Ninja Stars, and Brody has lived aboard his spaceship as a slave. Brody sees a chance to escape with the Nexus Prism and takes it, joined by Redbot, Mick Kanic and a Datacom. While on Earth, attacked and overmatched by Korvaka, he's aided by hoverboarder Sarah Thompson and amateur magician Preston Tien. The three access the Nexus Stars, becoming Power Rangers.—statmanjeff
- Brody's voice narrates. Ten years ago the Ninja Nexus Prism, containing the Ninja Nexus Star, fell from the sky to land in his family's backyard. Soon after, as pre-teen Brody trained in the yard, his father, Ninja Master Dane, chipped through the Prism's Ninja Steel coating in his workshop and accessed the Star. Evil alien monsters Galvanax, Ripcon and Madam Odius arrived to take it. With Brody endangered, Dane sends younger son Aiden into hiding with the Ninja Steel fragments before heading out to his eldest son's aid. Galvanax proposes a trade, Brody for the Nexus Star, but after getting Brody back, Dane instead defends the Nexus Star, transforming into a Power Ranger in the process (thanks to the Star itself).
In a last ditch effort to protect the Star and stop Galvanax from absorbing its power, Dane shatters the legendary device into six segments that transform into six Ninja Power Stars (now once again encased in the reappeared Ninja Nexus Prism) and causes Master Dane to vanish.
Unable to immediately break into the Ninja Nexus Prism, Galvanax has it taken back to his ship along with Brody.
Ten years pass. Brody has been a slave aboard Galvanax's spaceship (called Warrior Dome) where he has befriended a red robot named Redbot and a shape-shifting mechanical genius named Mick Kanic.
As easy-to-anger evil Ripcon comes upon them chatting, Mick hides by transforming into a mop. To diffuse the moment, Redbot explains that he and Brody were merely throwing out outdated equipment. Brody, in turn, shields Redbot by telling Ripcon he was sharing a new ninja move he just learned. Ripcon scoffs, so to prove his capability, Brody distracts Ripcon for a moment, whereby he expertly exchanges Ripcon's warrior sword for Brody's Mick-mop, which displeases Ripcon. Fortunately, Madam Odius enters to order Brody and Redbot to take the Prism to the stage.
The Warrior Dome hosts "Galaxy Warriors," a popular intergalactic game show hosted by Cosmo Royale, where alien monsters fight to the death for permission to try pulling a Power Star from the Nexus and be crowned Ultimate Champion.
Contestant monsters Lavagon and Korvaka fight, with Buzzcams (miniature cameras with winged insect-like bodies) following to capture and broadcast the action. Galvanax watches along with his mute horde of Kudabots. Korvaka wins. He returns to the Warrior Dome and reaches into the Ninja Nexus Prism. It rejects him with an electrical discharge and Korvaka is dragged off, winning, says Cosmo Royale, a free trip to the hospital.
After ten years without successfully accessing the Prism, Madam Odius suggests returning to Earth and making new Power Stars from the Ninja Steel that once encased it. Galvanax likes the idea and sets a course for Earth. Brody, having overheard this with Mick and Redbot, decide they must get off the ship and stop him.
At Summer Cove High School, Earth, amateur student magician Preston Tien emerges from his school bus, announcing his latest and forthcoming magic act. Elsewhere, student Calvin Maxwell works repairs on his truck while fellow student Hayley Roster sits behind the wheel. Calvin is almost run over by new student hoverboardist Sarah Thompson. She finally stops - right in front of Preston, who invites her to his next magic show.
With the Warrior Dome now orbiting Earth, Brody works to escape with the Ninja Nexus Prism. Redbot arrives with keys to a space cruiser, which a gun-totin' Kudabot shoots out of his hands. Under fire, the fleeing friends switch to Plan B.
Inside her new school, Sarah is greeted (or set upon) by Monty and Victor Vincent, respectively a fawning gay nerd and the full-of-himself, bullying jock he adores. Since she's new and does not know his name, Victor leads her to the main trophy case where nearly all the displayed athletic awards bear his name (all but the one for Dane Romero).
Seeing her hoverboard, Victor attempts to impress her with a display of his non-existent skills for it. He immediately loses control, careens dangerously through students, and collides with Preston during his new magic act (in which he has just reappeared in a dragon costume). Victor's collision leaves Preston standing in only boxer shorts and dragon mittens while Victor, now wearing the dragon head and the rest of the costume, lands in a dumpster.
Sarah demands Victor apologize for ruining Preston's show. To Victor (supported by Monty), that's a joke, and they leave.
Sarah apologizes for him and helps Preston clean up.
Back on the ship, Ripcon comes upon Brody and Mick as they drop the Ninja Nexus Star down a trash chute. Mick stumbles into the chute himself while Brody, hitting the release button as Ripcon approaches, jumps in deliberately.
Brody, Mick, Redbot, the Ninja Nexus Prism, and Warrior Dome debris free fall towards Earth. Using his jet boots, Redbot saves Brody but finds the muscled boy's weight to be a bit off-balancing. Mick, meanwhile, transforms himself into a soft metallic ball to cushion his own landing.
Sarah and Preston see the debris shower and hoverboard over to investigate.
Galvanax, angered by the theft of the Ninja Nexus Prism, sends Korvaka to retrieve it.
Surviving the crash landing, Brody awakens and assists Redbot to stand. They can't find Mick but see the Ninja Nexus Prism nearby. Redbot scans for Mick while Brody hides the Prism.
Korvaka arrives and chest-kicks Brody to the ground. With Korvaka's back turned in retrieving the Nexus Prism, Brody attacks but is unable to beat Korvaka alone. Korvaka closes in to kill Brody. Sarah and Preston arrive on hoverboard and crash into him.
With Korvaka dizzied, the Nexus Prism draws Brody's attention, its Ninja Power Stars glowing. Brody reaches in and extracts the Red Power Star. Sarah and Preston likewise reach in and extract, in turn, the Pink and Blue Power Stars. Brody recalls his dad doing this and becoming what was called a Power Ranger.
Brody leads them back to the woozy Korvaka. With plastic components beginning to appear in their hands, the teens stand prepared. As Korvaka blasts them with annihilating energy, the trio transforms into Power Rangers, imbued with the strength of ten freight trains. Taking on Korvaka, the kids marvel over their newly acquired strength and call their materialized swords Ninja Star Blades. Brody decides they should try their other weapons, and the group accesses their Ninja Blasters and blast Korvaka, who disintegrates (dies) in an explosive ball of fire.
Giddy from their group kill, the teens return to burying the Nexus Prism in a rock mound. Brody is ready to part ways, taking Redbot, but Sarah says they should stick together. Brody's plan is to return home to seek his brother, Aiden, and take the Ninja Steel fragments before the monsters do. The Ninja Nexus Prism, with three Ninja Power Stars still inside, suddenly bursts from the burial mound and spins away to parts unknown. The teens look on anxiously.
