Arshad Warsi will always be Jolly LLB for me
AvidReader077 August 2017
First of all, sorry to say but Akshay Kumar+Anu Kapoor+Kumud Mishra are no match for the Arshad-Boman duo. While they are good, all through the movie I kept on recalling how smashing Arshad and Boman were. Boman was this classy and sophisticated bad guy you'll love to hate, while Arshad was brilliant and effortlessly convincing as Jolly. Even sitting in the past, they were overshadowing the performances of the new cast. Saurab Shukla was great, and so was Akshay Kumar(if I don't compare him to Arshad), but Anu Kapoor annoyingly overacted all through.

About the movie, I just want to say that, to me, it seemed a lot more "politically correct" and commercialized than the first one. Huma's character was disappointing compared to Amrita's character. Overall, it was an okay movie, entertaining. It had bigger names and did well at the box office, good for them. But for me, it failed to recreate the charm created by the first one.

A Must Watch Court Room Drama for many Reasons.
SAMTHEBESTEST9 February 2017
JOLLY LLB 2 REVIEW : I was highly excited for this film after watching impressive trailer and promos while the other reason being Akshay Kumar's good script sense now days. Had to watch it Fdfs and now i just can't stop myself from reviewing it in details.

Acting - Akshay Kumar is Brilliant. He is full of variations here, he's Funny, Emotional and Intense too. Huma screen space is less but she looks Beautiful. Anu Kapoor is Brilliant as always, yet to see him giving a Weak performance, same with Saurabh Shukla. Other Star Cast is highly Impressive.

Writing - Full Marks to Subhash Kapoor. What an Excellent Writing, perfectly Balanced for Classes and Masses.

Screenplay - First Half is Entertaining but gets intense at Interval. Second Half is slow for the beginning 15 minutes then takes pace till the End. Last 15 minutes keeps you glued to your seat.

Music - Dull ! 'Go Pagal' comes and goes quickly but sounds irritating. 'Bawra Mann' is okay, 'Qawali' works big time. End Credit song is of no use actually.

Dialogues - Clap Worthy yet meaningful yet touching. Some are Funny as well, PJ Dialogues on Salman Khan, Aliaa, Sunny Deol are Hilarious. Perhaps the Best Dialogues for any Akshay's film recently.

Cinematography - Good but at some scenes production value looks B Grade and rest it raises the Bar. Court room scenes were shot in same angle so it does not impress much.

Direction - Hats off to Subhash Kapoor, sometimes Direction overtakes a whole Film and that's what exactly happened with Jolly LLB 2. Subhash worked on every small thing with a perfection, from dirty board outside session Court to a coloured surface of Holi celebration ending scene. He has delivered a Classic piece of Court Room Drama which has never happened before in Bollywood. All credit goes to him if film's receives High commercial success and critical acclaim.

Final Words - Overall Jolly LLB 2 is a MUST WATCH Film for all kind of audiences. It will entertain you, will make you emotional and you will leave theater with a good social message on Indian Judicial system. It is the Best Film of Akshay Kumar since Baby, best film of Huma and Subhash Kapoor's Career. Just don't think of anything after reading this review, just go and watch Jolly LLB 2 and i assure you, you won't be Disappointed. I'm going with 8/10* stars and giving it a "CLASSIC" Verdict.

Akshay Kumar is a brilliant advocate but Jolly the Judge wins Jolly LLB 2
editor-3309214 February 2017
Court room dramas are always a captivating watch and the Jolly LLb 2 court room scenes that occupy most of the second half are no different. While the story may not be as sharp as the original Jolly LLB the second part certainly keeps us engaged with powerhouse performances and witty one liners that kept me watching the action and laughing at the same time more on bollywood pataka.

Yet again Akshay Kumar makes his character Jagdishwar Mishra completely believable. From the look to the walk and the talk he has got the small town lawyer down pat. He begins as slippery eel out to make it big and ends up as protector of the law and the transformation is energetic and robust. Annu Kapoor who is pitted against Akshay Kumar is taut in his act, but the man who delivers the perfect courtroom pitch with witty one liners and strong screen command is the Judge played by Saurabh Shukla. What comes through is Saurabh's knowledge of the process and mechanics of the running of courts in India. Yet again an award winning performance for Sahrabh Shukla. Saurabh you are brilliant and it shines through in your act!

Too Much Jokes Not Relevant to The Storyline
anupapu811 February 2017
Warning: Spoilers
JOLLY LLB 2 - There was a dialogue in the very first few minutes of the movie when AKSHAY say to another man , "SAARI PADHAYI AAJ HI KAREGA KYA" ? And the tone with which AKSHAY says it , was as same as he said the famous dialogue 20 years ego "BACHE KI JAAN LEGA KYA"? What i want to say is that i agree AKSHAY is a very good actor , but somehow it started to feel like he has very limited amount of way to play a character , and he is not doing anything new. I personally like the themes which AKSHAY selects to make movies (BABY , AIRLIFT, RUSTAM , JOLLY LLB 2 and UPCOMING TOILET EK PREM KATHAA). But the problem is that , he never gives finishing touch to them. It feels like he is not an artist , rather a worker of director and just do whatever the director says and doesn't contribute from his own side. AIRLIFT was pretty flat , just talk no excitement. RUSTAM just changed one of the most important case in Indian judiciary system into a COURT ROOM joke. I am not even gonna talk about HOUSEFUL 3 and SINGH IS BLING. BABY is the only movie which bi consider to be good in recent time which released 2 years back. Still i had some expectations from this one. Because Jolly LLB 1 was really good and kind of Unique film. And this movie had the same good director and a good star cast too. So i was relieved for at least two departments. But at last part 2 is not good as part one. First because like RUSTAM jokes in this movie also take over the main plot. Which is not a bad thing if only those jokes seems relevant to the plot. But in this film, jokes were nowhere near the plot, infect the storyline deviates so many times that you would request the writer to come to point again and again. The second reason is that, there was not much of an investigation or Revelation shown in the storyline. No mystery was there. Infect in the end , the case ended with such a testimony of a witness who was nowhere in the scenario in between the investigation and his presence (which was a coincident) kind of makes the whole discussion earlier totally unnecessary. Then again those forced songs. i really cant understand that , why dance number are so important in Bollywood films. I don't think songs like GO PAGAL really promote a movie like JOLLY LLB 2. Is there really any person in this whole country who really want to see a court room drama just because it has a good dance number. If thats true , i would really like to meet those target audience . Don't get me wrong , jokes in this movie are really good and maximum of them works , but is that an enough reason to spent your money in a movie whose central theme is a murder case. I think watching COMEDY WITH KAPIL IS A BETTER OPTION. Anu Kapoor gave a powerful and screaming performance. But i didn't liked his characterization as much as i liked BOMAN IRANI in part 1. Lastly i would like to criticize a small thing. There was a small section of the movie representing KASHMIR which was actually shot in MANALI , which i think was a really bad decision because it didn't at all looked like KASHMIR. I think JOLLY LLB 2 is definitely a movie worth watching , because it touches many important themes but not satisfactorily, hence not in theater. And its also a little better then RUSTAM . I hope the next from AKSHAY will be better then this. 6.5/10 by ANuP APu KuMaR

Jolly LLB-2 review
vijayan-shekhar10 February 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Jolly LLB -2 review

Courtroom dramas always have a sense of drama in them and this flick has quite a bit of it.Jolly LLB-2 sets the premise straight with Jogeshwar Mishra a resident of Kanpur trying the odd even formula which would make a certain trigger happy leader in helping out students crack the English exam .Jolly is a 12th assistant to a leading lawyer and knows all the tricks in the books to get his work done . Akshay Kumar as Jolly is endearing , goofy ,winsome and quite a revelation as a lawyer who grows into the role which is not all black and white initially. This movie is all about a staged police encounter with justice being shown the door.Jolly is waiting for that one moment when he can land a fat case which is worth arguing for and ensure his family lives happily ever after. Due to an untimely death of a pregnant mother which leads to a precarious situation in the courtroom ...Jolly ends up fighting for what is right . The movie has its moments . The courtroom scenes between a top lawyer played by the man who is as animated in Antakshari as he is in the courtroom.. Annu Kapoor and Akshay kumar are whistle worthy . Umud Mishra plays the cop who orchestrates the entire fake encounter to land himself a promotion and his eyes talk more than his dialogues . The judge played by Saurabh Shukla does a mean Shandaar dance and makes his heavy presence felt standing out in one scene where there is a slap , gun shots and a hammer . Huma Quereshi as Jolly's wife knows how to gulp down a glass of whiskey in the neatest manner and that's about it and yes she likes her Gucci dress. This is an Akshay Kumar movie all the way . He wins you over with his sincerity, street smart cred and his ability for standing against a system. The movie has loopholes , a tad too long and the songs are unnecessary but the supporting cast does their job well. If you like Akshay and for the versatile choices he makes which is quite different from the rest.. you will like it .

Filled with extraordinary performances, makes you laugh and think but never lets you take a Yawn. A must watch.
devgurjar10 February 2017
When i watched the Jolly llb i was surprised by the brilliance of plot, direction and acting. So when Jolly llb2 was announced I was very excited about it. Review :-

Let's not Dig the plot too much. It's a story of a lawyer who wants to be a big lawyer someday, want to have his own chamber and wants a Rolls Royce. Guilty leads him to fight against the wrong.

Acting :- Akshay Kumar brings justice not only to the victims but to his performance as well. How he turns from a selfish guy to a good man is amazing. Saurabh Shukla nailed his roll once again like the last time. Annu kapoor brought a Lucknowi charm to his character. Huma gave a decent performance but he didn't has too much to do. Kumud mishra as a bad cop is delight to watch.

Dialogues are superb and their delivery is amazing. Climax is a top notch where realism in the movie is at peak. Long speeches by both lawyers made the climax a treat to watch.

There are loops in the movie..but they are scars in moon.

After all this wait for this movie. This was clearly another fantastic courtroom drama. It lives up to your expectations and gives you a message with satire.

Over all. 8.5 stars which is not available so I'll go with 9 Thank you

Let The Underdog Win!
namashi_111 February 2017
A Sequel to the delightful Jolly LLB, 'Jolly LLB 2' is an engaging & engrossing courtroom drama, that despite having an all new leading man, works well. Writer-Director Subhash Kapoor delivers yet again & Akshay Kumar emerges a winner as Jolly.

'Jolly LLB 2' Synopsis: Jolly, a clumsy lawyer, is faced with representing the most critical court case of his career, after a helpless women commits suicide.

'Jolly LLB 2' is much-like its super-successful, national-award-winning previous installment - humorous, hard-hitting & entertaining. The Writing is tight this time too. Kapoor keeps the narrative crisp & its protagonist's journey from an underdog to a righteous lawyer, is indeed engaging. While the first-hour is a bit slow & takes time to come to its point, its the second-hour take completely arrests you. Watching Jolly defend the deceased victim & her murdered husband, is absorbing. It also helps that Kapoor keeps the goings-on light-hearted, despite some hard-hitting punches. Kapoor's Direction is truly well-done! After Jolly LLB, 'Jolly LLB 2' is a yet another winner from Kapoor!

'Jolly LLB 2' would've been a lesser film, had it not been for the correct casting. Akshay Kumar, who replaces the terrific Arshad Warsi here to portray Jolly, is in top-form! His body-language is marvelous & the way he gets into the skin of the character, is very note-worthy. But the show-stealer is Saurabh Shukla. Reprising his role as the comical judge (which earned the screen icon a National-Award for his previous portrayal), is simply stunning. Right from hIs dialogue delivery, to his love for Alia Bhatt & dancing to her hit song Gulaabo, is hilarious to the core. Shukla dominates the second-hour & takes 'Jolly LLB 2' to another level. Its a stupendous performance, that deserves to be seen. Annu Kapoor is fantastic as the opposing lawyer. The veteran doesn't miss a beat & challenges Akshay at every step. Kumud Mishra is good, as always. Huma Qureshi is decent, but she doesn't get much scope to leave a mark. Sayani Gupta is remarkable in her portrayal of a helpless woman. Manav Kaul is fair. Brijendra Kala shines. Others lend good support.

On the whole, 'Jolly LLB 2' is a winner, as it engages you almost throughout. Definitely, worth a watch!

Yet another bang from Akshay kumar. Movie is totally a "paisa wasool". Few parts are good. Some are nice. Most of them are very good which includes comedy, suspense, drama, thriller etc.

for Songs i would give 7/10.(Bawara song is good)

Good job by the director for this great script.

Inference of the movie is very appreciable.

Not a good role by Akshay's father in the movie. Apart from that rest of the movie is very nice.

you will enjoy both the halfs but better is the 2nd part. Rest the movie is a great movie and everyone should watch

Like A Second Hearing. ♦ Grade C+
nairtejas10 February 2017
Subhash Kapoor is a man who knows how to make people laugh through his well-written filmy sequences and then make them remember those sequences so that they can think about it later and laugh out loud for the nth time. Although this one here is generally perceived as a courtroom drama, there is still some wry humor etched in the corners.

Jolly (Akshay Kumar) is an aspiring young lawyer who practices law without any scruples. Married with a small kid, he currently works as a submissive assistant to one of the most high-profile advocates in Lucknow. He hopes to own a chamber of his own one day, and one of his quick yet dastardly attempts at taking the short-cut forces him to reflect on ethics and other canons of professionalism that is otherwise at no display in his profession both customarily and personally. So starts a fast-paced drama inside and outside of the court as Jolly tries to solve his first full case and absolve his sins.

For people who have watched the prequel (Jolly LLB (2013)), there is no need for an introduction here, and even if you skip this review, you can still gleefully book a ticket and go for the next available show. You will not complain about the level of entertainment quotient as it is almost as high as it was back when Arshad Warsi was wearing the black robe. The only big difference here is that Kapoor has made it vividly more relevant if we consider the chaotic status quo of the political and judicial circues in the country. The setup is similar to what we saw four years ago - an up-and-coming lawyer looking for a breakthrough, a side family from the poor class looking for justice, corrupt policemen and babus, (coincidentally) an idiosyncratic judge, and good old courtroom drama. While the prequel dealt with an accident case involving murder, this one here talks about fake encounter.

It is evident that Kapoor has borrowed some points from Chaitanya Tamhane's 2014 path-breaker and Academy Award hopeful, Court, but this one is not as raw as the one which was arguably the best Hindi film of 2015 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LnpkJW7Gcn4 ). With use of wry humor, occasional slapstick, and non-feasible fiction dangling over the scenes, there is this intrinsic lack of seriousness in the whole two hours. It's like the characters did not want to irrigate even a tiny bit of propensity to pan their story as a serious courtroom drama where one or two essential messages are to be conveyed. Instead, the film ends with a preachy note that is as cringe-worthy as the lead man's make-believe lawyering. There are far too many improbable situations, but then there is a broad line between reality, what can be shown on film, and what is shown on film. If you are used to looking at your partner while watching such a situation (which would be impossible to think of IRL) in a film and then shrugging it off, then Jolly LLB 2 will be a much better experience.

Akshay Kumar looks good as Jolly, the helpless lawyer. His transition from being helpless to artful kinda gets muddled in the non- fastidious attempt to get everyone inside the court as fast as possible. If you are wondering, I would prefer Warsi anytime over Kumar despite the latter being a phenomenal actor who has proved his talent by donning diverse roles in his long career. Saurabh Shukla is a delight to watch, and it is around him that Kapoor etches those memorable sequences I was talking about. Along with brilliant performances by Annu Kapoor, Sayani Gupta, and Kumud Mishra, the film manages to hold on to its core theme throughout and does not disappoint, especially in the second half. Huma Qureshi could have been easily done away with, but let's discuss that broad topic sometime later.

Overall, this sequel is not as good as the original film, but still merits for a one-time watch considering we don't have many good films coming up these days.

BOTTOM LINE: Subhash Kapoor's Jolly LLB 2 is a brisk drama that tries to be - a courtroom drama, a comedy skit, and a fable - all at once just because it wants to make people believe that the justice system is still a trusted institution. It's good entertainment. Go for a weekday show where you get 50% discount on BookMyShow if you have certain cards or wallets.

Can be watched with a typical Indian family? YES

Akki is unbeatable.
bhaveshnariya9 February 2017
It's tragic and funny at the same time. Akshay Kumar's comic timing is the backbone of this story. His dialect, theatrics, dialogues, everything is spot on, but he is yet to deliver a powerful speech like Arshad Warsi.

With a fantastic support cast like Saurabh Shukla, Annu Kapoor and Inamul Haq, Jolly LLB 2 looks like a winner.

Director Subhash is clearly in command of a story that seems to have a well written screenplay.

Powerful performance.

Akki rocks!!!!!!!!

A great watch! :)
nikhil_kamra11 February 2017
This movie was just a perfect mixture of comedy and serious drama. At least up until the second half, when things got a bit more serious. It started off as a perfect satire of the India legal system, but took turns focusing on both the main story line, and the jokes.

After the intermission, the case at hand, takes the wheel, and the comic relief, however present, feels non existent, because you focus so much on the serious issue/case at hand. Now, this may seem to be a good thing, because the story IS, in fact, gripping. But this changed the entire tone of the movie.

And that felt, a little, over the top. It wasn't really called for, but it was something that I honestly, DID expect.

Akshay Kumar is at his usual, charming. Annu Kapoor was great. Huma Qureshi was hilarious. And Saurabh Shukla was BRILLIANT. Everything, from his intro (that dance in the court was hilarious), to his annoyance at the people not maintaining proper order, to his final verdict (with the moving speech and all). I think it's safe to say that HE was the MVP of this movie.

Also, the rest of the cast was pretty much fine too.

The story does have it's average number of plot holes, but nothing horrendous.

VERDICT:

Story: 7.5/10, Comedy: 9/10, Acting: 8/10, Execution: 7/10

Overall: 7.5/10

The movie is well worth your time and money. Not exactly a MUST watch, but definitely a MEMORABLE one! :)

P.S. I have not yet watched the first part of Jolly LL.B., so this review is completely impartial to the movie, and I DO NOT (CAN NOT, actually) compare it to its predecessor. That being said, now I'm going to watch THAT one!

Have a good day, everyone! :)

Akshay simply couldn't pull off an Arshad Warsi
vivek-webmail19 February 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Jolly LLB2 is certainly not a film that deserves what most reviews say. I am pretty sure, all the other reviews are paid reviews. It is film with mediocre story but even weaker script and excessive dramatization.

Jolly LLB 2 has several weak points spread across the entire film. The following things are very observable flaws in the script:

1. Jolly convinces Hina to give him a heavy amount. When Hina discovers that it was a fraud, she commits suicide, it becomes a criminal offense and not just a simple fraud

2. Narcotics test is not admissible in court.

3. Too much court room dramatization including nonsensical protest.

4. Totally misfit songs.

5. Akshay's wife acts normal even after learning that a woman committed suicide because of her husband's fraud.

All-in-all, a mediocre film. Arshad Warsi was way better and more believable than Akshay Kumar.

Overall Jolly LLB2 being the sequel to Jolly LLB is an average one time watch entertainer.
Natasha070514 February 2017
Akshay Kumar : A name we all know who suits every role really well, his take as a lawyer in this one is applause worthy. Annu Kapoor : A powerful comeback after sometime, always a delight to watch. Huma Qureshi : She literally failed to put up with her character. Saurabh Shukla as a judge is entertaining.

Story : The plot surrounds a lawyer who in guilt ends up challenging the judicial system. Script is well written. Direction is average. First half is sharp, but the second half seems lengthy but one is thankful for the hilarious court scenes which keeps one entertained.

Music : The music of Jolly LLB 2 is one of its weakest aspect. There is No track which leaves an impression.

Akshay Kumar takes a cue from the original Jolly, Arshad Warsi, and adds his own touch to it.
pranayjalvi12 February 2017
Jolly LLB 2 is a highly entertaining film that also succeeds in delivering some food for thought in a most unsuspecting manner. The film takes swipes at the judiciary, highlights its complexities and flaws, but ultimately reinstates faith in the judicial system. For a courtroom comedy-drama the film has surprisingly high levels of action and suspense. Jolly LLB 2 is a very well made film but it pales in comparison to Jolly LLB. However, Jolly LLB 2 has something for everyone. It's certainly a must watch if you are an Akshay Kumar fan. As for others, you wouldn't be disappointed if you do choose to watch it but don't go expecting another Jolly LLB.

A movie that fits perfectly into the jurisdiction of the audience. Well written with decent performances.
oazam12 February 2017
Last year, people like me had to encounter crappy sequels coming from their successful predecessors such as Rock On 2, Kahaani 2, and Force 2. Is this movie going to fit in my top 10 worst movie list of 2017, lets find out.

So a high qualified lawyer's 15th assistant hails from Kanpur to Lucknow and is currently learning Law. His attorney skills results in multiple mishaps such as losing the case and leading to corruption as a result. What Jolly does to prove his stature is basically what this movie is about. Quite frankly, based on the cringe worthy trailer, I was quite disappointed thinking that probably this movie is just not ready. But it is a great film based on the writing and acting.

The acting was great throughout. Akshay Kumar gives an energetic performance and he started and ended well in this film. Surprisingly over the last few years since Airlift, he has been making great films and deviating from that Rowdy Rathore and Boss zone. When I meant since airlift, housefull 3 doesn't count.

Saurabh Shukla was also great in his respective role. He is definitely one of those people who are comedy oriented.

Huma Qureshi was okay during 1st half. Her stature doesn't suit comedy movies to be honest. She should stick to gang wars and thrillers just like the phenomenal performances she gave in Gangs of Wasseypur and Badlapur.

Anu Kapoor was good but he screams not whenever you see him on TV or movies in general.

Saying Gupta and Kumud Mishra were also decent in their parts.

Subhash Kapoor's writing was very consistent. The movie has great moral messages and he managed to present the judicial law system of Lucknow very well. The dialogues were also great but Hq's dialogues were bit out of place and very unrealistic.

The cinematography and direction was a bit too vintage and I could say that some of the angles were sloppy and a bit too incoherent in parts mostly after post interval. Lucknow's resonance looked to shabby and less crisped.

Overall, this movie is undoubtedly the best sequels of 2017 so far and it did surprise me to a whole different. Jolly LLB 2 is definitely a cinema ticket spent movie. Even lawyers with poor qualifications should see this movie to understand the consequences to have bad results as an attorney.

Next sequel (not really but in the same franchise with the same actors), Badrinath Ki Dulhania. This mediocre trailer better change something as well as the music.

Sequel kept the satire court room drama certainly entertain you through out
prafullasrivastav11 February 2017
Subhash Kapoor continued with his satire legacy in the sequel of court room drama with fake encounter issue, Terrorism and Kashmir.Usually Sequel failed to achieve the label of first part however this movie can be consider as better than previous installment. Performance wise Akshay Kumar was brilliant through out the movie. Anu Kapoor was too good in his role. Saurabh Shukla shown his SWAG as a judge. Huma Qureshi was good as female lead. Dialogues were full of punches and script will keep you engage till the climax. Music was only weak point of this movie. Only Go Pagal - Jolly LL.B 2 - Akshay Kumar was impressive as Holi song. Sanjay Mishra (actor) and Manav Kaul shown significant performance in small roles. First time, we have seen Kumud Mishra in grey shade role. This movie will certainly enter into 100 crores club.

A sequel that keeps the essence of the original alive!
Bhasu11 February 2017
This movie is a sequel so it's obvious that it will be compared with the previous one. When I first saw the trailer I thought the movie will be similar to the previous one. Yes, since it is a courtroom drama and a good v/s bad portrayal is there, so resemblance is obvious. But thankfully it has some new elements.

Story wise, previous one was better because that was based on a case with no evidence and the verdict of the judge was the trump card of the story. But that doesn't mean this one has a bad story. In fact, at some places this excels its predecessor. What I didn't like was the unnecessary 'riot' angle in Kashmir and forcibly placing humour at some places. Other elements like comedy, emotion, drama, suspense are at proper places.

As per the cast of the movie, Saurabh Shukla was the best of the lot. This gentleman is definitely the gem of the movie. Akshay Kumar, Huma Qureshi and Sayani Gupta were also good in their roles. Although I'm not against Akshay Kumar, but I think even Arshad Warshi should have recreated the magic. I really missed him throughout the movie. But it was Annu Kapoor who let me down. I know it is not possible to recreate the image created by Boman Irani in the previous one, but his character should have given more importance. Also Sanjay Mishra as Guruji did not get the proper attention.

Music was good, but Go Pagal song didn't have the catch that it was intended to. The other two songs were fine.

Overall Jolly LLB 2, though not as powerful as Jolly LLB, will not let you down. It still has its heart at the right place.

One among the few good bollywood movies..

Near perfect movie by Subhash Kapoor...get rid of the songs and it will be perfect. A must watch on all counts. The performance wise It's an Akshay Kumar movie, he steals the show no doubt. Sayani Gupta have small but powerful role. Judge Tripadi rocks again!! Annu Kapoor is also good as per the character he played. Reminds the Boman Irani part in the first installment in a different flavor though. Story is good, screenplay is excellent. Please cut the songs in this kind of movie.

A Great Ending Scene
payalmachhi17 February 2017
When name comes JOLLY It's come with fun. This movie have that little characteristic but it's majored in Crime Investigation And Court Drama. A lawyer did whatever he can for justice. This movie shows that In India till this date how cases are handled in Local Court.A victim have to go through how much pain for filing a case against Big Party. But still justice is there. In every court justice have it's value. And for proving that justice court can also run in the middle of the night. When comes to comparison First one is little bit good than this one. But this movie have it's own charm.Movie characters, plot, dialogues all are good. That keep viewers till the end for finding the real culprit. I can say that one can watch it one time. So it is one time watch movie.

Do not miss Jolly LLB 2 at any cost. It is a fun ride all the way !!
ketgup8311 February 2017
Audiences were in for a surprise when they witnessed "Jolly LLB" starring Arshad Warsi, Boman Irani, Amrita Rao and Saurabh Shukla. The film was a runaway hit and won numerous awards and accolades, including the National Award for Saurabh Shukla in the Best Supporting Actor category. Can "Jolly LLB 2" repeat the success of the first part ? Let us find out ..

A small time lawyer, Jagdish Mishra (played by Akshay Kumar) wants to make it big by enforcing himself in a case where an innocent person is killed in a fake encounter by a corrupted cop.

From the director of "Phas Gaye Re Obama" and "Jolly LLB", Subhash Kapoor takes one step forward with the rib-tickling comedy. "Jolly LLB 2" focuses on our poor judiciary where a single case is bought at the hand of big goons who desperately try to save themselves brushing their mistakes as act of innocence. Hats off to Subhash Kapoor for fearlessly depicting these events with ease. Few acts did catch my attention- the introduction scenes of Akshay Kumar where he mints money by dictating the answers to the students, the court fight scene between Akshay Kumar and Annu Kapoor and the dharna scene at the court between Saurabh Shukla and Annu Kapoor will certainly bring down the house. Of course , the film has its share of flaw as well - the unnecessary insertion of songs and dance (completely not required in this kind of cinema), melodrama included in the climax which spoiled the mood.

"Jolly LLB 2" belongs to three central characters - Akshay Kumar, Annu Kapoor and Saurabh Suhkla will drive you nuts with their admirable performances. Aksay Kumar not only emotes well in comic scenes but is commendable in essaying serious role as well. Annu Kapoor , as usual , is marvelous. Saurabh Shukla as judge is simply fantastic. He is sure to make you laugh with typical Delhi accent and comic timings. Huma Qureshi was okay.

"Jolly LLB 2" is pleasure to watch not just for its satirical humor on Indian Judiciary system, but always for its beautiful message on honesty and bravery. Good 3/5

A clean court room drama!!!
akb0078 March 2017
Jolly is a small time lawyer who practices in the Lucknow high court has only one dream to own a chamber for himself. For that jolly needs money and he cons an innocent girl by telling lies that his boss will take her case. When she realizes he is a fraud, she reacts differently. The court room scenes were outstanding and it also includes some comic sequences which makes it more beautiful. The film deals with the case of mistaken identity of a terrorist. Akshay kumar, who can play any time of roles once again shows his acting skills in Jolly. Both Annu Kapoor and Saurabh Shukla were likable in their own roles. Huma's character was grounded and nothing much to offer in the plot. Subhash Kapoor nicely handles the second half with engaging courtroom scenes and at the same time it will also entertain you. Overall, it's a watchable courtroom movie and it won't disappoints you in any manner.

This movie is a let down
debjyotihaldar30 April 2017
Warning: Spoilers
I waited eagerly for the sequel of Jolly LLB 2. The first movie in the franchise was quite amazing. In this review I may seem biased due to the comparison i will make to Jolly LLB.

First of all I would like to say Akshay Kumar is a great actor and has done a great job. Even though I am not quite the critic on acting but I thoroughly enjoyed his performance.

Jolly LLB was a movie full of twist and turns and we held onto the edge of our seats because even we, the audience did not know the truth. The storytelling of the sequel however was quite the opposite. There is no sense of mystery in the movie. Most of the courtroom scenes are spent talking about personal matters and the lawyers insulting each other. Hell we don't even see the courtroom until 40 minutes into the movie.

This movie is too "bollywoodised" for my liking. There are just songs in the movie that have nothing to do with the plot. Typical Bollywood. The previous movie could have captured you emotionally and helped you understand the protagonist's struggles. This movie did none of that.Comedy? No way!. It was not the least bit funny. So maybe they were trying to make a serious movie? If so you should hear Anu Kapoor's character's arguments. It was just so silly. One of the main things going for the first movie was the dramatic tension of the movie. This has none of that. Maybe the comparison has made the movie seem very bad. Maybe if I had watched this one movie first I would have liked it but in the end it was just a let down.

Warning: Spoilers
Suicide ruined it for me. I know there needs to be some turning point for the story to progress but they shouldn't have gone that way . Felt bad the entire movie.

At this time(2017) a very unique movie from akshay
abhjeetdaamedhar-8182414 February 2017
Some unique points

* No action from Akshaykumar * No overacting from Akshaykumar * Not a regular bollywood movie

No doubt Akshay is improving day by day.

This movie is a must watch for Akshaykumar.

Movies has some twists and different little stories at every point.

cannot reveal much about the movie but definitely a must watch.

Akshay easily accepts bullets on his body no need of action. Huma is a cute wife. Our lovely judge is awesome again. Each and every performance is very good. That ultimately contributes to the movie.

As the pattern follows-

Akshay's first movie of the year is always best from last few years

Special 26 - 2013 Holiday - 2014 Baby - 2015 Airlift - 2016 Jolly LLB2 - 2017
