Hilarious as always

Glad we're back to New Gumball episodes! This is mostly a parody of the musical episode. I admit it's really funny when we have the singing shower that looks like a parody of the talking inanimate objects from "Beauty And The Beast". I just wish Nicole had been more destructive with it! Many of the characters get their own brief and goofy songs in this, but the funniest was probably Richard's. He sang about how important fast food was to him. I will admit that I was disappointed Gumball didn't have a song and neither did Penny. They're my favorite characters!

Even Pluto has a song where he (she?) (it?) talks about how it's no longer a planet. I think it's a parody of Adele. I love the bit where the background characters acknowledge the fact that they're literally background characters. They at least get close to having their own verses. Wait a minute, the funniest was Terri's. She was unconscious and started singing in a dream about germs in this bizarre anime like parody sequence. I expect only the best from this show. ***1/2

This gets better

I admit that this episode starts off pretty slow, particularly with how it doesn't focus on the Watterson family. We get this news reporter named Kip who appears to be a live-action newspaper with clothes on. As the episode goes on, it does get much better. There's not that much plot except that the reporter is trying to find news even though there's nothing happening. I laughed when they did the bit with Daisy Donkey. They have a puppet show featuring her and treat her like an actual celebrity. She gets into a literal fight with her co-worker puppet. We actually get to see a live-action puppeteer have his hands fight each other with the puppets.

It then mentions that Daisy is going to do community service. We then see the man cleaning up litter with the mouth of the puppet. Well from another episode, we knew Daisy Donkey was unstable! There's another great bit where he goes to the sports and it features this hilarious mascot puppet thing yell about sports. Trust me, it's funnier than it sounds. There's even some nice bits at the end where Kip is fighting with another puppet or whatever technique they're using. Not a masterpiece, but something you want to see the whole way through. ***1/2
