The good guys are so annoyingly stupid

Warning: Spoilers
The good guys are so annoyingly stupid that I have no sympathy for them. The bad guys' plan was a very simple one but it was enough to outsmart the good guys.

Shankar, a godfather type person who helped some poor people from losing their land to these goons has a sister who is in college. Obviously the goons wanted revenge for losing the land. One day Shankar's sister Madhumita slaps Rishi for beating up her professor. She later finds out that the prof. was harassing a student and Rishi was like a student leader who comes to the aid of any student in trouble. Rishi breaks into song about what a great man he is. However Madhumita felt that Rishi took the slap thing seriously and was out to get her. He kidnaps her only to take her to the register office where her friend is getting married. The goons try to kidnap her but she gets into the van willingly because she thought it was one of Rishi's ploys. Rishi finds out, beats the goons and saves her. The goons think he is the boyfriend which becomes true after they go through a couple of misunderstandings including Rishi's brother falling for Madhumita, and Rishi sacrificing her for his brother. Also just to lazily try to jerk some tears from the audience, Rishi reveals that he was adopted. His brother elopes and marries another woman because he somehow deduced that Rishi loves Madhumita too. One of Shankar's men sees this marriage and it almost caused a misunderstanding but Shankar finds out through his father that Madhumita was not happy with the marriage anyway.

So things calm down a little and the comic relief is so stupid but also totally unrelated to the other events that it feels like they are in a totally different movie. I am serious. I doubt if the comic relief actors and the main role actors even met. They probably time-shared the camera and did their roles on alternating days.

Toward the end the bad guys go and stab Rishi's brother but not to death and claim that they were sent by Shankar. Shankar lets Rishi beat him because Shankar thought that his men attacked Rishi without telling Shankar. A lot of drama over it before Shankar and his good minions realize that it was not them that stabbed Rishi's bro. Madhumita gets kidnapped again and now Shankar goes and beats Rishi thinking that Rishi's student gang kidnapped her. They realize who was behind the kidnapping but only Rishi goes to save her. I'm glad his ego is more important than saving the girl.

In conclusion the film is let down by a convoluted plot in which nothing really happens.
