Amazing intro
shakedatjunk14 July 2021
This first episode we are introduced to some of the most original and mind blowing animation we have ever seen. Interesting battle shonen very similar to Bleach or Yu Yu Hakusho, but doing just about everything different than most shonens. Also has the comedy and absurdity of One Punch Man(obviously) and JoJo.

Great fight/stomp, interesting characters, good comedy, great art and animation, subversion of shonen cliches.

Hooked me from the very first minute and watching this episode again after seeing the series it's stil just as amazing.

GREAT!

This one of the best first episodes in anime history. Now let me tell you WHY: *First of all the the animation. Bones just nailed it!

* Second, the comedy. God I loved it so much.

* And third, SUPERANIMEX.

Screams upon screams and exaggerated emotions
Nycrosoft3 January 2020
WARNING before you read my review: this is my initial impression of the first episode and haven't seen past ep 1 to know the full context of the story, so take this review with a grain of salt as it's purely impulsively written.

Onto the review.. I don't usually put low ratings on anything, but god damn, I had to make an exception for this one episode.

Maybe I went in with the wrong mindset into this thinking it would be as good or even BETTER than OPM (One Punch Man) like most of the reviews have said about this anime. When I watched the first episode of OPM I was immediately in love and I understood what all the hype was about. For this anime I guess just I got surprised when it was so damn different in humor, style and plot, and not in a good way from my initial impression.

The episode was filled with scream:y "humor" with exaggerated emotions that is nothing more than obnoxious (which is also the reason I liked OPM as it strives away from that type of humor). Music was OK but the sound effects seemed a bit off at times. Story-wise I got completely lost and didn't understand anything in the end except for some character traits I guess. The art paired with animation style was impossible to get into, and along with everything else I mentioned, caused literal headache (not an exaggeration).

I hope it gets better as a few people say it does, but most people say they got stuck immediately and loved it all the way through while I'm here with a headache after the first episode... I'm not kidding when I say this episode was one of the most painful piece of footage I've watched in a while.

Despite all of this though, it looks like they put a lot of work into this and I've not seen a single bad review of it. So I guess it's worth watching more episodes of this anime, hence +1 star rating.
